Alarm system for a garment and method of making

Abstract

There is disclosed a garment and a holder formed on the garment in combination with an alarm or other sensible device, wherein the device is insertable into the holder through an opening which can be opened and closed by a releasable fastener, and to method of making such a combination.

In combination: a garment, a fabric sheet having an outer periphery, the fabric sheet being secured to the garment at the outer periphery except for a predetermined portion, a closable and releasably fastener at the predetermined portion to provide a closed chamber, and a user-activatable or sensible device in the chamber.  
   
   
       2 . The combination defined in  claim 1 , wherein the fastener includes a strip of loops and a strip of cooperable hooks, wherein one of the strips is permanently secured to the fabric sheet and the other strip is permanently secured to the garment.  
   
   
       3 . The combination defined in  claim 1 , wherein the device is in a closed envelope comprised of liquid-impervious plastics material.  
   
   
       4 . The combination defined in  claim 1 , wherein the fabric sheet has four sides and the fastener extends along a portion of one of the sides.  
   
   
       5 . The combination defined in  claim 4 , wherein the fabric sheet is sewn to the garment at the periphery of the other three sides of the fabric sheet.  
   
   
       6 . The combination defined in  claim 1 , wherein the fabric sheet is sewn to the garment at the periphery of the fabric sheet.  
   
   
       7 . In combination: a fabric sheet having an outer periphery, and one part of a two-part closable and releasable fastener secured to at least a portion of the periphery of the fabric sheet.  
   
   
       8 . The combination defined in  claim 7 , wherein the fastener includes a strip of loops and a strip of cooperable hooks, and wherein one of the strips is permanently secured to the fabric sheet.  
   
   
       9 . Method of making a holder for an alarm or other sensible device, comprising: providing a sheet, securing one part of a two-part fastener to a peripheral portion of the sheet, securing the other part of the fastener to a garment, and securing the remaining periphery of the sheet to the garment to provide a chamber at a portion where the two parts can cooperate to open and releasably close access to and from the chamber, inserting the device into the chamber, and closing the fastener.
