Abstract
A device for sanding or polishing including a support which can be driven in motion having a first end surface against which can be positioned a sanding or polishing film having an interior surface shaped and sized to be positioned against the first end surface and an exterior sanding or polishing surface; and a film holder comprising a layer positioned against the first end surface and enabling renewable adherence by cleaning the layer.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 15 . (cancelled)
16 . A device for sanding or polishing comprising:
a support which can be driven in motion having a first end surface against which can be positioned a sanding or polishing film having an interior surface shaped and sized to be positioned against the first end surface and an exterior sanding or polishing surface; and a film holder comprising a layer positioned against the first end surface and enabling renewable adherence by cleaning the layer.
17 . The device according to claim 16 , wherein the layer is reactivatable glue.
18 . The device according to claim 17 , wherein the reactivatable glue is water-activatable vinyl.
19 . The device according to claim 16 , wherein the layer is adherent polymer.
20 . The device according to claim 19 , wherein the adherent polymer layer is based essentially on polyurethane.
21 . The device according to claim 16 , wherein the support further comprises means for attachment of an edge of the film that creates at least one leading edge of sanding or polishing when the support is driven in motion.
22 . The device according to claim 16 , wherein the support is made of a manually deformable material.
23 . The device according to claim 22 , wherein the manually deformable material is a mesh of metal wires.
24 . The device according to claim 16 , wherein the support has a second end surface opposite the first end surface, the second end surface comprising a layer enabling renewable adherence by cleaning of the layer.
25 . The device according to claim 16 , wherein the support has a second end surface opposite the first end surface, the second end surface comprising at least one band of loop material or hook material.
26 . The device according to claim 25 , wherein the second end surface comprises a loop material or a hook material over all of its surface.
27 . A sanding machine comprising a device according to claim 16 .
28 . The sanding machine according to claim 27 , wherein the machine is electrically driven.
29 . A polishing machine comprising a device according to claim 16 .
30 . The polishing machine according to claim 27 , wherein the machine is electrically driven.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
