Abstract

A container system for the shipping and storing of produce such as bananas includes a substantially rigid outer container having a number of ventilation apertures disposed about its upper and lower peripheral edges. Various cushioning pads and inner bags for shipping and storing produce are also included.

A container for the shipping and storing of produce a substantially rigid outer container having a plurality of ventilation apertures, said outer container comprising a pair of opposed vertical short panels, a pair of vertical opposed long panels, a top panel, and a bottom panel, each of said ventilation apertures having a first portion being disposed along the peripheral edge of one of said top panel and said bottom panel and a second portion being disposed along the peripheral edge of one of said vertical short panels and said vertical long panels.
