Windproof umbrella
Abstract
Disclosed is a windproof umbrella having only one canopy. A plurality of ropes formed of extendable plastic material are tightly coupled between a second intermediate ring and rope connectors proximate tips of ribs. The ropes are adapted to pull the canopy inwardly for preventing the umbrella from being easily inverted in a normal position. Even in a case of the umbrella inverted by high winds, air can exit upwardly around the edge of the canopy. Thus, the umbrella is adapted to easily return to its normal position by pulling a lower ring down slightly after high winds causing the inversion of the umbrella has weakened.

A windproof umbrella including a folding radial frame and a canopy stretched over the frame, wherein the frame comprises a shank, a lower ring slidable along the shank, a first intermediate ring slidable along the shank, a second intermediate ring slidable along the shank, the second intermediate ring being higher than the first intermediate ring, a hub on a top of the shank, a spring compressed between the lower ring and the first intermediate ring, a plurality of ribs pivotably extended outwardly from the hub, a plurality of first connectors each at an intermediate position of the rib, a plurality of stretchers each pivotably coupled between the first intermediate ring and each of the first connectors, a plurality of second connectors each at a predetermined position of the stretcher, a plurality of reinforcing struts each pivotably coupled between the lower ring and each of the second connectors, a plurality of rope connectors each provided proximate of open end of each rib, and a plurality of ropes each coupled between the second intermediate ring and each of the rope connector.
2 . The windproof umbrella of claim 1 , wherein each stretcher is made of FRP and comprises two parallel, integrally or individually formed cylindrical rods.
3 . The windproof umbrella of claim 1 , wherein each of the first and the second connectors is formed by injection molding.
4 . The windproof umbrella of claim 1 , wherein each second connector comprises two parallel channels with the stretchers passed and an intermediate pivot pivotably coupled to an upper hook end of the strut.
5 . The windproof umbrella of claim 1 , wherein each strut is formed of steel, is shaped by bending.
6 . The windproof umbrella of claim 1 , wherein each rib is made of FRP and is shaped as a cylindrical rod.
7 . The windproof umbrella of claim 1 , wherein each stretcher is made of FRP and is shaped as a cylindrical rod.
8 . The windproof umbrella of claim 1 , wherein the open end of the rope is coupled to the rope connector.
