Universal golf tool and method

Abstract

A multi use golf tool for use in combination with a golf tee comprising a housing and a piston slideably through said housing, the piston receiving and holding a golf tee. The tee is inserted into the ground by placing the tool housing in the ground, moving the tee containing piston downward through the housing thereof inserting the tee in the ground and removing the tool from around the tee. The tool of the present invention may also include a divot repair tool, a ball marker, tee storage means and/or a cigar/cigarette rest.

1 . A multi-use golf tool for use in combination with a golf tee, said tee having a first end and a second end, the first end coming to a point and the second end forming in the shape of a cup to support a golf ball placed thereon, comprising: 
 a. a housing    b. a piston means slidably contained within a bore defined through said housing said piston defining an opening therein sized and shaped to permit a golf tee to be positioned therein and support thereby,    
   
   
       2 . A multi-use golf tool for use in combination with a golf tee, said tee having a first end and a second end, the first end coming to a point and the second end forming in the shape of a cup to support a golf ball placed thereon, comprising: 
 a. a housing having an axial bore there through with a first opening at one end thereof and a second opening at the opposite end of said housing, the bore communicating from said first opening to said second opening; and further defining a slot along the side thereof said slot communicating with said axial bore along its entire length    b. piston means including a first closed end, a second open end and a vertically disposed semi-circular wall extending therebetween, the semi-circular wall forming a space within said piston means having the profile of the ball support cup of said tee such that the golf tee may be received by and held within the piston means and such that said first end of the tee extends out of the open end of said piston, whereby said golf tee may be inserted into the ground by placing one end of the housing on the ground and moving the piston downward through the housing to cause the tee to be inserted into the ground, the tool of the present unit being slideable away from the inserted tee by allowing the tee to pass out of the piston means space and through the housing side opening.
