Abstract

The present invention relates to polynucleotide and polypeptide molecules for zsig37, a novel member of the family of proteins bearing a collagen-like domain and a globular domain. The polypeptides, and polynucleotides encoding them, are involved in dimerization or oligomerization and may be used in the study thereof. The present invention also includes antibodies to the zsig37 polypeptides.

1 . A formulation comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle and a polypeptide, wherein the polypeptide comprises amino acid residues 26 to 281 of SEQ ID NO:2.  
     
     
         2 . The formulation of  claim 1 , wherein the polypeptide comprises amino acid residues 22 to 281 of SEQ ID NO:2.  
     
     
         3 . The formulation of  claim 1 , wherein the polypeptide comprises amino acid residues 1 to 281 of SEQ ID NO:2.  
     
     
         4 . The formulation of  claim 1 , wherein the polypeptide consists of amino acid residues 26 to 281 of SEQ ID NO:2.  
     
     
         5 . The formulation of  claim 1 , wherein the formulation comprises a complex of at least two of the polypeptides.  
     
     
         6 . The formulation of  claim 5 , wherein the polypeptides are linked by intermolecular disulfide bonds.  
     
     
         7 . The formulation of  claim 5 , wherein the polypeptide complex is a trimer.

         20 . The formulation of  claim 19  wherein the polypeptide is recombinantly produced in a mammalian cell.  
     
     
         21 . The formulation of  claim 19  wherein the polypeptide is recombinantly produced in  E. coli.
