Filing cabinet device and method of use

Abstract

A method of using a filing cabinet device includes moving a movable divider of a filing cabinet to a desired position for placing files in front of the movable divider; providing a filing cabinet device for the movable divider including a projection that extends a distance W in front of a top of the movable divider; placing files in the filing cabinet between the movable divider and the front of the filing cabinet; and using the projection of the filing cabinet device to orient the files between the movable divider and the front of the filing cabinet so that the bottom of a rear file extends closer to the front of the filing cabinet than the top of the rear file, allowing the files to be easily identified and preventing the files from being packed too tightly together in the filing cabinet.

1 . A method of using a filing cabinet device with a filing cabinet, the filing cabinet including a front, a rear, and a movable divider therein, the method comprising: 
 moving the movable divider to a desired position in the filing cabinet for placing files in front of the movable divider, between the movable divider and the front of the filing cabinet;    providing a filing cabinet device for the movable divider including a projection that extends a distance W in front of a top of the movable divider;    placing one or more files in the filing cabinet between the movable divider and the front of the filing cabinet, the one or more files including a rear file having a top and a bottom;    using the projection of the filing cabinet device to orient the one or more files between the movable divider and the front of the filing cabinet so that the bottom of the rear file extends closer to the front of the filing cabinet than the top of the rear file, allowing the files to be easily identified and preventing the files from being packed too tightly together in the filing cabinet.    
   
   
       2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the filing cabinet device is separate from the movable divider.  
   
   
       3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the filing cabinet device is integrated with the movable divider.  
   
   
       4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the movable divider is the filing cabinet device.  
   
   
       5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the distance W is between 0.5 and 6 inches.  
   
   
       6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the filing cabinet device includes a wedge having an angled front forming an angle relative to the movable divider that is in the range of 30-45 degrees.  
   
   
       7 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the filing cabinet is at least one of a single filing cabinet drawer of a multi-drawer filing cabinet, a single filing container of a multi-container filing system, and a single filing container for keeping files in order.  
   
   
       8 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the one or more files are one or more files, folders, papers, documents, filing cards, and other objects stored in a filing cabinet.  
   
   
       9 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the movable divider has a height HD and the filing cabinet device includes a height H, and the height H of the filing cabinet device is one-third to one-half the height HD of the movable divider.  
   
   
       10 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the movable divider has a length and the filing cabinet device includes a length L, and the length L of the filing cabinet device is substantially the same as the length of the movable divider.  
   
   
       11 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the filing cabinet device includes multiple filing cabinet devices in different sizes depending on at least one of the size of the filing cabinet and the size of the files.  
   
   
       12 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the filing cabinet device has at least a partial triangular block shape.  
   
   
       13 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the filing cabinet device has at least a partial polygonal block shape.  
   
   
       14 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the filing cabinet device has at least a partial rectilinear block shape.  
   
   
       15 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the filing cabinet device has at least a partial curvilinear block shape.  
   
   
       16 . A method of using a filing cabinet device with a filing cabinet, the filing cabinet including a front, a rear, the method comprising: 
 providing a filing cabinet device for the rear including a projection that extends a distance W in front of a top of the rear;    placing one or more files in the filing cabinet between the rear and the front of the filing cabinet, the one or more files including a rear file having a top and a bottom;    using the projection of the filing cabinet device to orient the one or more files between the rear and the front of the filing cabinet so that the bottom of the rear file extends closer to the front of the filing cabinet than the top of the rear file, allowing the files to be easily identified and preventing the files from being packed too tightly together in the filing cabinet.    
   
   
       17 . The method of  claim 16 , wherein the filing cabinet device is separate from the rear of the filing cabinet.  
   
   
       18 . The method of  claim 16 , wherein the filing cabinet device is integrated with the rear of the filing cabinet.  
   
   
       19 . The method of  claim 16 , wherein the rear of the filing cabinet is the filing cabinet device.  
   
   
       20 . The method of  claim 16 , wherein the distance W is between 0.5 and 6 inches.
