Apparatus for improved volleyball training
Abstract
A highly effective, efficient, and cost-effective improved volleyball practice device. Embodiments include a support beam holding one or more volleyballs in a suspended fashion so as to allow players to practice both offensive and defensive skills. Said volleyballs are arranged so that practice is both highly effective and efficient. That is, several players may practice at one time and in such a way that coaches can closely evaluate each players technique. Further, the present device is portable. This feature allows smaller groups of player to separate and focus on different aspects of the game. Finally, the present device is cost-effective, and therefore can be afforded by players that may not normally have access to traditional practice facilities. The improved volleyball practice device is thought to be most useful for effectively teaching players essential skills such as spiking and blocking.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A device for improved volleyball practice, comprising:
a support means supporting at least one stabilization mechanism, at least one ball, a suspension means suspending said ball from said support means at a height above a playing surface, a portable base member.
2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein said support means is comprised of:
one horizontal support member and at least one vertical support member permanently joined so as to form a singular, modular support frame.
3 . The device of claim 1 , where
said horizontal support member may be re-positioned along said vertical support members so that the height of horizontal support member relative to said playing surface may be adjusted.
4 . The device of claim 3 , where
said vertical support members may be slideably adjusted along said horizontal support member so that the lateral distance between said vertical support members may be adjusted.
5 . The device of claim 1 , wherein said stabilization mechanism is permanently joined to said support means so as to form a singular, modular frame.
6 . The device of claim 1 , wherein said stabilization mechanism may be reversibly attached to and slidably adjusted along said support means.
7 . The device of claim 5 , wherein said stabilization mechanism is comprised of a circular frame extending in a uniform planar direction substantially parallel to said playing surface.
8 . The device of claim 6 , wherein said stabilization mechanism is comprised of a circular frame extending in a uniform planar direction substantially parallel to said playing surface.
9 . The device of claim 7 , wherein said stabilization mechanism is further comprised of a cover surrounding said frame.
10 . The device of claim 8 , wherein said stabilization mechanism is further comprised of a cover surrounding said frame.
11 . The device of claim 1 , where said suspension means is comprised of a connection means.
12 . The device of claim 11 , where said suspension means is further comprised of a connecting means tube which is attached to said support means.
13 . The device of claim 1 , where said portable base member is comprised of a device stabilization means
14 . The device of claim 13 , where said device stabilization means consists of a plurality of weights placed along a vertical support pin resting on top of said base member.
15 . The device of claim 13 , where said device stabilization means consists of a plurality of suction devices placed along the bottom of said base member.
16 . The device of claim 13 , where said device stabilization means consists of a lock pin which forcibly rests against a wheel mount so as to frictionally resist movement of the apparatus.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
