Abstract
A gaming device having an improved award offer bonus scheme wherein the player may improve their award during the bonus round. The bonus game enables the player to select an award offer from a plurality of award offers. The gaming device enables the player to modify the selected award offer, creating a subsequent or modified award, with the idea of increasing the award offer to receive a greater or higher award during a bonus game.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A gaming device operated under control of a processor, said gaming device comprising:
a game controlled by the processor; a plurality of ranked positions in said game; a plurality of position moves in said game; a plurality of offers in said game, wherein a plurality of said offers are associated with a plurality of said ranked positions and any offer associated with at least one ranked position is greater than any offer associated with any lower ranked position; and a display device adapted to display said game; wherein the processor is operable with said display device to control a play of said game by: (a) providing and displaying one of said ranked positions to a player; (b) enabling the player to accept or reject any offer associated with said provided position; (c) if the player accepts said offer, providing the offer to the player; and (d) if the player rejects said offer:
(i) providing the player at least one of the plurality of position moves,
(ii) providing and displaying another one of said ranked positions, wherein said other ranked position is based on the previous ranked position and said provided position move;
(iii) repeating (b) to (d) at least once.
2 . The gaming device of claim 1 , wherein each of said offers is associated with one of said ranked positions.
3 . The gaming device of claim 1 , wherein said other ranked position is based on a plurality of previous ranked positions and said provided position move.
4 . The gaming device of claim 1 , wherein said other ranked position is based on each previous ranked position and said provided position move.
5 . The gaming device of claim 1 , wherein said other ranked position is based on said previous ranked position and a plurality of provided position moves.
6 . The gaming device of claim 1 , wherein said other ranked position is based on said previous ranked position and each of said provided position moves.
7 . The gaming device of claim 1 , wherein said other ranked position is based on a plurality of previous ranked positions and a plurality of provided position moves.
8 . The gaming device of claim 1 , wherein the position moves are selected from the group consisting of: (a) positive values; (b) positive and zero values; (c) positive and negative values; and (d) positive, zero and negative values.
9 . The gaming device of claim 1 , wherein each position move include a value component and a positive or negative component which are independently determined.
10 . The gaming device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is operable to control the play of the game by repeating (b) to (d) unless said rejected offer is a final offer.
11 . A gaming device operated under control of a processor, said gaming device comprising:
a game controlled by the processor; a plurality of ranked positions in said game; a plurality of position moves in said game; a plurality of offers in said game, wherein a plurality of said offers are associated with a plurality of said ranked positions and any offer associated with at least one ranked position is greater than any offer associated with any lower ranked position; and a display device adapted to display said game; wherein the processor is operable with said display device to control a play of said game by: (a) providing and displaying one of said ranked positions to a player; (b) enabling the player to accept or reject any offer associated with said provided position; (c) if the player accepts said offer, providing the offer to the player; and (d) if the player rejects said offer:
(i) providing the player at least one of the plurality of position moves,
(ii) providing and displaying another one of said ranked positions, wherein said other position is based on the previous ranked position and said provided position move;
(iii) providing the player any offer associated with said other provided position.
12 . The gaming device of claim 11 , wherein each of said offers is associated with one of said ranked positions.
13 . The gaming device of claim 11 , wherein said other ranked position is based on said previous ranked positions and a plurality of provided position moves.
14 . The gaming device of claim 11 , wherein the position moves are selected from the group consisting of: (a) positive values; (b) positive and zero values; (c) positive and negative values; and (d) positive, zero and negative values.
15 . The gaming device of claim 11 , wherein each position move include a value component and a positive or negative component which are independently determined.
16 . A gaming device operated under control of a processor, said gaming device comprising:
a game controlled by the processor; a plurality of ranked positions in said game, said plurality of ranked positions including an initial ranked position; a plurality of position moves in said game; a plurality of offers in said game, wherein a plurality of said offers are associated with a plurality of said ranked positions and any offer associated with at least one ranked position is greater than any offer associated with any lower ranked position; and a display device adapted to display said game; wherein the processor is operable with said display device to control a play of said game by: (a) displaying said initial ranked position to a player; (b) enabling the player to accept or reject any offer associated with said initial ranked position; (c) if the player accepts said offer, providing the offer to the player; and (d) if the player rejects said offer:
(i) providing the player at least one of the plurality of position moves,
(ii) providing and displaying a subsequent one of said ranked positions, wherein said subsequent ranked position is based on the previous ranked position and said provided position move,
(iii) enabling the player to accept or reject any offer associated with said subsequent ranked position,
(iv) if the player accepts said offer, providing said offer associated with said subsequent ranked position to the player, and
(v) if the player rejects said offer, repeating (i) to (v) at least once.
17 . The gaming device of claim 16 , wherein each of said offers is associated with one of said ranked positions.
18 . The gaming device of claim 16 , wherein said subsequent position ranked is based on a plurality of previous ranked positions and said provided position move.
19 . The gaming device of claim 16 , wherein said subsequent ranked position is based on each previous ranked position and said provided position move.
20 . The gaming device of claim 16 , wherein said subsequent ranked position is based on said previous ranked position and a plurality of provided position moves.
21 . The gaming device of claim 16 , wherein said subsequent ranked position is based on a plurality of previous ranked positions and a plurality of provided position moves.
22 . The gaming device of claim 16 , wherein said subsequent ranked position is based on said previous ranked position and each of said provided position moves.
23 . The gaming device of claim 16 , wherein the position moves are selected from the group consisting of: (a) positive values; (b) positive and zero values; (c) positive and negative values; and (d) positive, zero and negative values.

26 . A method of operating a gaming device, said method comprising:
a game controlled by the processor;
(a) providing and displaying to a player one of a plurality of ranked positions;
(b) enabling the player to accept or reject any award associated with said provided ranked position, wherein any award associated with said provided ranked position is greater than any award associated with any lower ranked position;
(c) if the player accepts said award, providing the award to the player; and
(d) if the player rejects said award:
(i) providing the player at least one of a plurality of position moves,
(ii) providing and displaying another one of said ranked positions, wherein said new ranked position is based on the previous ranked position and said provided position move;
(iii) repeating (b) to (d) at least once.
27 . The method of claim 26 , wherein said new ranked position is based on said previous ranked position and a plurality of provided position moves.
28 . The method of claim 26 , wherein said new ranked position is based on said previous ranked position and each provided position move.

(i) providing the player at least one of a plurality of position moves,
(ii) providing and displaying another one of said ranked positions, wherein said other ranked position is based on the previous ranked position and said provided position move;
(iii) repeating (b) to (d) at least once.
35 . The method of claim 34 , wherein said other ranked position is based on a plurality of previous ranked positions and said provided position move.
36 . The method of claim 34 , wherein said other ranked position is based on each previous ranked position and said provided position move.

(i) providing the player at least one of a plurality of position moves,
(ii) providing and displaying another one of said ranked positions, wherein said other ranked position is based on the previous ranked position and said provided position move;
(iii) providing the player any offer associated with said other provided position.
46 . The method of claim 45 , wherein said other ranked position is based on said previous ranked position and a plurality of provided position moves.

(a) displaying an initial ranked position to a player; (b) enabling the player to accept or reject any offer associated with said initial position, wherein any offer associated with said initial ranked position is greater than any offer associated with any lower ranked position; (c) if the player accepts said offer, providing the offer to the player; and (d) if the player rejects said offer:
(i) providing the player at least one of a plurality of position moves,
(ii) providing and displaying a subsequent one of said ranked positions, wherein said subsequent ranked position is based on the previous ranked position and said provided position move,
(iii) enabling the player to accept or reject any offer associated with said subsequent ranked position,
(iv) if the player accepts said offer, providing said offer associated with said subsequent ranked position to the player,
(v) if the player rejects said offer, repeating (i) to (v) at least once.
52 . The method of claim 51 , wherein said subsequent ranked position is based on said initial ranked position and a plurality of provided position moves.
53 . The method of claim 51 , wherein said subsequent ranked position is based on a plurality of previous ranked positions and said provided position move.
