Abstract
A wireless access protocol-capable telephone provides the ability to conference call numerous individuals. While maintaining the conference call, the telephone user simultaneously uses the wireless access protocol browser to perform data communication. The user then relays the information accumulated from the data communication back to the conference call.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method for conferencing a plurality of telephone numbers onto a single telephone call using a wireless access protocol-capable communication device, the method comprising the steps of:
transmitting the plurality of telephone numbers to a mobile network for calling; connecting to the plurality of telephone numbers, wherein the mobile network calls the plurality of telephone numbers; adding the plurality of connected telephone numbers to a conference bridge; and performing a data call simultaneously with the conference bridge operation.
2 . The method of claim 1 wherein the connection between the plurality of telephone numbers is packet switched.
3 . The method of claim 1 and further including the step of using a wireless access protocol browser to access the plurality of telephone numbers.
4 . The method of claim 1 wherein the plurality of telephone numbers are stored in the communication device.
5 . The method of claim 1 wherein the plurality of telephone numbers are stored in a network server.
6 . The method of claim 1 wherein the plurality of telephone numbers are conferenced over the Internet.
7 . The method of claim 1 wherein the telephone call is a video call.
8 . The method of claim 1 and further comprising the step of performing an electronic commerce transaction over the data call.
9 . A method for conferencing a plurality of telephone numbers onto a single telephone call using a wireless access protocol-capable telephone, the method comprising the steps of:
selecting, at a wireless device, a plurality of participants corresponding to the plurality of telephone numbers; accessing the plurality of stored telephone numbers; transmitting the plurality of stored telephone numbers to a server; the server transmitting the telephone numbers to a service node; initiating a telephone call in response to each of the plurality of telephone numbers; conferencing all answered telephone calls on to a conference bridge; and performing a data session simultaneously with the operation of the conference bridge.
10 . The method of claim 9 wherein the server is a wireless telephone application server.
11 . The method of claim 9 and further including the step of the service node providing a voice response to each answered telephone call.
12 . The method of claim 11 wherein the voice response includes a welcome message.
13 . The method of claim 9 wherein the step of accessing includes using a wireless access protocol browser to access the telephone numbers.
14 . The method of claim 9 wherein the plurality of stored telephone numbers are stored in the telephone.
15 . The method of claim 9 wherein the plurality of stored telephone numbers are stored on the wireless telephony application server.
16 . The method of claim 9 wherein the plurality of stored telephone numbers are stored on the lightweight directory access protocol server
17 . The method of claim 9 wherein the plurality of stored telephone numbers are stored on any server on the Internet such as web-based white pages.
18 . The method of claim 9 and further including the step of generating a status indication for telephone calls that are not answered within a predetermined time.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
