Mounting device

Abstract

The present invention provides a device for securely mounting goods on a display unit, the display unit having at least one mounting bar thereon. The device includes a housing having an aperture adapted to receive the mounting bar in use, and first and second mountings. A first fixing device may be coupled to the goods in use and then attached to the first mounting to allow the goods to be selectively attached to the housing. Similarly, a second fixing device may be coupled to the goods to allow the goods to be secured to the display unit.

1 . A device for securely mounting goods on a display unit, the display unit having at least one mounting bar thereon, the device including: 
 a) A housing having: 
 i) An aperture adapted to receive the mounting bar in use;  
 ii) A first mounting; and,  
 iii) A second mounting; and  
   b) A first fixing device, the first fixing device being coupled to the goods in use and being attachable to the first mounting to allow the goods to be removably mounted to the housing; and,    c) A second fixing device, the second fixing device being coupled to the goods and the second mounting in use, to thereby secure the goods to the display unit, such that the goods may be removed from the housing whilst remaining secured to the housing.    
   
   
       2 . A device according to  claim 1 , wherein when the goods includes tools the first fixing device is adapted to couple to the respective tool, thereby allowing the tool to be selectively attached to the housing.  
   
   
       3 . A device according to  claim 2 , the tool including a drill having a drill chuck adapted to receive the drill bit in use, the first fixing device being adapted to be received by the drill chuck.  
   
   
       4 . A device according to  claim 3 , the second fixing device being formed from a flexible member to allow the goods to be removed up to a distance defined by the flexible member.  
   
   
       5 . A device according to  claim 4 , wherein when the goods include an electrical power cable, the second fixing device is adapted to receive the power cable to thereby couple the goods to the second fixing device.  
   
   
       6 . A device according to  claim 5 , the second fixing device including a cable holder for holding at least some of the power cable in use.  
   
   
       7 . A device according to  claim 4 , wherein when the goods do not include an electrical power cable, the second fixing device includes a mounting cable coupled thereto, the mounting cable being secured to the goods in use to thereby couple the goods to the second fixing device.  
   
   
       8 . A device according to  claim 7 , the second fixing device including a clip, the second mounting being arranged such that in use the clip cooperates with the mounting bar to secure the goods thereto.  
   
   
       9 . A device according to  claim 8 , wherein in use the clip may be manually released from the mounting bar to thereby selectively release goods.  
   
   
       10 . A device according to  claim 9 , the device further including product information regarding the respective goods attached thereto.

       12 . A display unit for displaying goods, the display unit including at least one mounting bar adapted to receive a mounting device including: 
 a) A housing having: 
 i) An aperture adapted to receive the mounting bar in use;  
 ii) A first mounting; and  
 iii) A second mounting; and  
   b) A first fixing device, the first fixing device being coupled to the goods in use and being attachable to the first mounting to allow the goods to be selectively attached to the housing; and,    c) A second fixing device, the second fixing device being coupled to the goods and the second mounting in use, to thereby secure the goods to the display unit.    
   
   
       13 . A display unit according to  claim 12 , the display unit being adapted to receive a device for securely mounting goods on a display unit, the display unit having at least one mounting bar thereon, the device including: 
 a) a housing having: 
 i) an aperture adapted to receive the mounting bar in use;  
 ii) a first mounting; and,  
 iii) a second mounting;  
   b) a first fixing device, the first fixing device being coupled to the goods in use and being attachable to the first mounting to allow the goods to be selectively attached to the housing, and,    c) a second fixing device, the second fixing device being coupled to the goods and the second mounting in use, to thereby secure the goods to the display unit.

       15 . A device for securely mounting goods on a display unit, the goods including an electrical power cable, the display unit having at least one mounting bar thereon, the device including: 
 a) A housing adapted to be mounted on the mounting bar in use;    b) A first fixing device, the first fixing device being coupled to the goods in use and being attached to a first mounting provided on the housing to allow the goods to be selectively attached to the housing; and    c) A second fixing device, the second fixing device being adapted to receive the power cable in use, to thereby secure the goods to the display unit.    
   
   
       16 . A device according to  claim 15 , wherein when the goods include tools the first fixing device is adapted to couple to the respective tool, thereby allowing the tool to be selectively attached to the housing.  
   
   
       17 . A device according to  claim 16 , the tool including a drill having a drill chuck adapted to receive the drill bit in use, the first fixing device being adapted to be received by the drill chuck.  
   
   
       18 . A device according to  claim 15 , the second fixing device including a cable holder for holding at least some of the power cable in use.  
   
   
       19 . A device according to  claim 18 , the second fixing device including a clip, the second mounting being arranged such that in use the clip cooperates with the mounting bar to secure the goods thereto.  
   
   
       20 . A device according to  claim 18 , wherein in use the clip may be manually released from the mounting bar to thereby selectively release the goods.  
   
   
       21 . A device according to  claim 19 , the device further including product information regarding the respective goods attached thereto.

       23 . A display unit for displaying goods, the goods including an electrical power cable, the display unit including at least one mounting bar adapted to receive a mounting device including: 
 a) A housing adapted to be mounted on the mounting bar in use;    b) A first fixing device, the first fixing device being coupled to the goods in use and being attachable to a first mounting provided on the housing to allow the goods to be selectively attached to the housing; and,    c) A second fixing device, the second fixing device being adapted to receive the power cable in use, to thereby secure the goods to the display unit.    
   
   
       24 . A display unit according to  claim 22 , the display unit being adapted to receive a display device and having at least one mounting bar thereon, the device including: 
 a) A housing adapted to be mounted on the mounting bar in use;    b) A first fixing device, the first fixing device being coupled to the goods in use and being attached to a first mounting provided on the housing to allow the goods to be selectively attached to the housing; and    c) A second fixing device, the second fixing device being adapted to receive the power cable in use, to thereby secure the goods to the display unit.

       27 . A device for securely mounting goods on a display unit, the display unit having at least one mounting bar thereon, the device including: 
 a) A housing having: 
 i) An aperture adapted to receive the mounting bar in use;  
 ii) A first mounting; and  
 iii) A second mounting; and,  
   b) A first fixing device, the first fixing device being coupled to the goods in use and being attachable to the first mounting to allow the goods to be removably mounted to the housing; and    c) A second fixing device, the second fixing device being coupled to the goods and the second mounting in use, to thereby secure the goods to the display unit, such that the goods may be removed from the housing whilst remaining secured to the housing, the second fixing device including a clip, the second mounting being arranged such that in use the clip cooperates with the mounting bar to secure the goods thereto.    
   
   
       28 . A device according to  claim 1 , the second fixing device being formed from a flexible member to allow the goods to be removed up to a distance defined by the flexible member.  
   
   
       29 . A device according to  claim 1 , wherein when the goods include an electrical power cable, the second fixing device is adapted to receive the power cable to thereby couple the goods to the second fixing device.  
   
   
       30 . A device according to  claim 29 , the second fixing device including a cable holder for holding at least some of the power cable in use.  
   
   
       31  A device according to  claim 1 , wherein when the goods do not include an electrical power cable, the second fixing device includes a mounting cable coupled thereto, the mounting cable being secured to the goods in use to thereby couple the goods to the second fixing device.  
   
   
       32 . A device according to  claim 1 , the second fixing device including a clip, the second mounting being arranged such that in use the clip cooperates with the mounting bar to secure the goods thereto.  
   
   
       33 . A device according to  claim 32 , wherein in use the clip may be manually released from the mounting bar to thereby selectively release goods.  
   
   
       34 . A device according to any of  claim 1 , the device further including product information regarding the respective goods attached thereto.  
   
   
       35 . A device according to any of  claim 15 , the second fixing device including a clip, the second mounting being arranged such that in use the clip cooperates with the mounting bar to secure the goods thereto.
