Golf putter head

Abstract

A golf putter head having a configuration similar to that of a croquet mallet head is disclosed. The shaft of the putter is attached to the putter head at the approximate center thereof and the putter head is substantially symmetrical about the shaft. The longitudinal axis of the putter shaft is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the putter head. The putter head has slightly enlarged ends which act as the striking surface of the putter head.

A golf putter head comprising a body portion having a substantially cylindrical configuration in cross-section, said body portion having a central portion terminating in oppositely disposed end portions, said central portion and said oppositely disposed end portions each being of a substantially constant diameter along the longitudinal axis of said golf putter head, the diameter of said oppositely disposed end portions being slightly greater than the diameter of said central portion, and said central portion having a blind bore therein in the approximate center thereof, said blind bore receiving the shaft of a putter and having its longitudinal axis substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of said golf putter head.  
     
     
         2 . The golf putter head as defined in  claim 1  wherein the overall length of said body portion is about 3.875 inches.  
     
     
         3 . The golf putter head as defined in  claim 1  wherein the length of said central portion of said body portion is about 3.500 inches.  
     
     
         4 . The golf putter head as defined in  claim 1  wherein the diameter of said central portion of said body portion is about 1.1875 inches.  
     
     
         5 . The golf putter head as defined in  claim 1  wherein the diameter of each of said oppositely disposed end portions of said body portion is about 1.3125 inches.  
     
     
         6 . The golf putter head as defined in  claim 1  wherein the weight of said golf putter head is about 240 grams.
