Abstract

Plastics pipes comprise polyolefins which can be prepared by means of a fluorine-modified chromium catalyst and are used for transporting gases and liquids.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A plastics pipe consisting of a polyolefin which is prepared in a single-line plant by means of a silica gel-supported chromium catalysts activated with air and modified with an inorganic fluorinating agent.

2 . A plastics pipe as claimed in claim 1 , the polyolefin contained being a homopolymer or copolymer of ethylene.

3 . A plastics pipe as claimed in claim 1 , the polyolefin contained being a copolymer of ethylene with a 1-alkene of 3 to 10 carbon atoms.

         4 . A plastic pipe as claimed in claim 1 , the polyolefin contained having a density of from 0.943 to 0.955 g/cm 2 , a melt flow rate HLMI (190° C./21.6 kg) of from 4 to 12 g/10 minutes and a molar mass distribution Mw/Mn of from 8 to 18.

5 . A plastic pipe as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the plastic pipe contains further additives in addition to the polyolefin in amounts of from 0 to 10% by weight, based on the polyolefin.

6 . A crosslinked plastic pipe obtained by crosslinking the plastics pipe as claimed in claim 1 .

7 . A crosslinked plastics pipe as claimed in claim 6 , obtained by radiation crosslinking of the plastics pipe.

8 . A process for transporting gases and/or liquids, said process comprising moving the gases and/or liquids through the plastics pipe as claimed in claim 1 .

9 . A process for transporting gases and liquids, said process comprising moving the gases and/or liquids through the crosslinked plastic pipe as claimed in claim 6 .

10 . A process for heating, said process comprising passing heating fluid through a plastics pipe as claimed in claim 6 .

11 . The process of claim 10 , wherein the heating fluid comprises water at from 70 to 90° C.
