Hair brush

Abstract

A hair brush and method for using the same are disclosed. In various embodiments, the hair brush includes first and second brush heads pivotally coupled together. Each brush head can include bristles facing inwards toward the other brush head. Guide pins, longer than the bristles, can be disposed on the brush heads and can be used to guide the bristles deeper into the hair. In various embodiments, the guide pins are coated with ions that can inactivate and/or remove free radicals from the hair.

1 . An apparatus comprising: 
 a first brush head having a first plurality of bristles extending therefrom and a guide pin extending farther from the first brush head than the first plurality of bristles; and    a second brush head pivotally coupled to the first brush head and having a second plurality of bristles extending therefrom and a guide pin extending farther from the second brush head than the second plurality of bristles.    
   
   
       2 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the guide pins each comprise: 
 a synthetic material.    
   
   
       3 . The apparatus of  claim 2 , wherein the synthetic material is coated with ions.  
   
   
       4 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , further comprising: 
 a resilient member to bias the first and second brush heads in an open position.    
   
   
       5 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , further comprising: 
 ceramic material disposed on at least one of the first brush head and the second brush head.    
   
   
       6 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first brush head and the second brush head comprises: 
 a rounded portion opposite the plurality of bristles.    
   
   
       7 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of bristles comprises: 
 boar bristles.    
   
   
       8 . An apparatus comprising: 
 a first brush head having a first plurality of bristle groups extending therefrom and a guide pin disposed within each of the first plurality of bristle groups, wherein each guide pin extends farther from the first brush head than each of the first plurality of bristle groups; and    a second brush head pivotally coupled to the first brush head and having a second plurality of bristle groups extending therefrom and a guide pin disposed within each of the second plurality of bristle groups, wherein each guide pin extends farther from the second brush head than each of the second plurality of bristle groups.    
   
   
       9 . The apparatus of  claim 8 , wherein the guide pins each comprise: 
 a synthetic material.    
   
   
       10 . The apparatus of  claim 9 , wherein the synthetic material is coated with ions.  
   
   
       11 . The apparatus of  claim 8 , further comprising: 
 a resilient member to bias the first and second brush heads in an open position.    
   
   
       12 . The apparatus of  claim 8 , further comprising: 
 ceramic material disposed on at least one of the first brush head and the second brush head.    
   
   
       13 . The apparatus of  claim 8 , wherein at least one of the first brush head and the second brush head comprises: 
 a rounded portion opposite the plurality of bristles.    
   
   
       14 . The apparatus of  claim 8 , wherein the plurality of bristles comprises: 
 boar bristles.    
   
   
       15 . A method comprising: 
 gripping a lock of hair with an apparatus comprising a first brush head having a first plurality of bristles extending therefrom and a guide pin disposed within the first plurality of bristles and extending farther from the first brush head than the first plurality of bristles, and    a second brush head pivotally coupled to the first brush head and having a second plurality of bristles extending therefrom and a guide pin disposed within the second plurality of bristles and extending farther from the second brush head than the second plurality of bristles; and    styling the lock of hair with the apparatus.    
   
   
       16 . The method of  claim 15 , wherein styling comprises: 
 at least one of straightening and curling the lock of hair.    
   
   
       17 . The method of  claim 16 , further comprising: 
 drying the lock of hair while styling the lock of hair.    
   
   
       18 . The method of  claim 15 , further comprising: 
 removing, with ions disposed on the guide pins, free radicals in the lock of hair.
