Abstract
A collapsible decoy 10, including two generally planar side body panels 11, 12 allowing the decoy 10 to be collapsed into a substantially flat configuration and which are splayed when in the erected position, a head and neck portion 14 connected to at least one of the side body panels 11, 12, and a means for retaining the side body panels 11, 12, when in use, in the erected position.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 26 . cancel.
. A collapsible decoy, comprising two generally planar side body panels allowing the decoy to be collapsed into a substantially flat configuration and which are splayed when in the erected position, a head portion and a neck portion connected to at least one of the side body panels, and a means for retaining the side body panels, when in use, in the erected position.
. A kit from which to construct a collapsible decoy, comprising two side body panels, a head portion and a neck portion, means for connecting the head and neck portion to at least one of the side body panels, and a means for retaining the assembled decoy in the erected configuration.
. A decoy according to claim 27 , wherein the decoy comprises a base.
. A decoy according to claim 27 , wherein the decoy is buoyant.
. A decoy according to claim 30 , wherein the base has sufficient buoyancy to enable the decoy to float.
. A decoy according to claim 31 , wherein the decoy is self-righting when used in water.
. A decoy according to claim 30 , wherein the decoy comprises separate floatation devices.
. A decoy according to claim 27 , wherein the side body panels are constructed from plastic sheeting.
. A decoy according to claim 29 , wherein the base is constructed from plastic sheeting.
. A decoy according to claim 29 , wherein the planar side body panels and the base are interconnected.
. A decoy according to claim 36 wherein the side body panels and the base are integrally connected.
. A decoy according to claim 27 , wherein the head and neck portions are integrated.
. A decoy according to claim 38 , wherein the integrated head and neck portion is of a two-dimensional silhouette arrangement, which is attached to at least one of the side body panels or other decoy body portion.
. A decoy according to claim 38 , comprising a means for altering the position of the integrated head and neck portion relative to the side body panels.
. A decoy according to claim 40 , wherein the altering means comprises a pivotal connection between the integrated head and neck portion and at least one of the side body panels or other decoy body portion.
. A decoy according to claim 38 , wherein the side body panels and the integrated head and neck portion are adorned with markings such that they resemble the bird species being represented.
. A decoy according to claim 42 , wherein the markings comprise a matt textured surface portion.
. A decoy according to claim 43 , wherein the matt textured surface portion comprises a flocked surface portion.
. A decoy according to claim 27 , wherein the side body panels comprise a moulded surface portion.
. A decoy according to claim 38 , wherein the integrated head and neck portion comprises a moulded surface portion.
. A decoy according to claim 27 , wherein the decoy comprises a keel or pedestal extending downwardly from the decoy.
. A decoy according to claim 47 , wherein the keel is pivotally connected to the decoy, enabling the keel to be pivoted into a slot provided in the base when the decoy is in the erected configuration.
. A decoy according to claim 27 , wherein the decoy comprises an anchoring means.
. A decoy according to claim 27 , wherein the decoy comprises a biasing means for biasing the decoy into the erected and collapsed configurations.
. A decoy according to claim 27 , comprising a locking mechanism for retaining the decoy in the erected configuration.
. A collapsible decoy, comprising:
two generally planar side body panels, at least one base panel. the body panels and the at least one base panel allowing the decoy to be collapsed into a substantially flat configuration and which are splayed when in an erected configuration, a head portion and a neck portion connected to at least one of the side body panels, a means for retaining the side body panels and the at least one base panel, when in use, in the erected configuration, and a keel pivotally connected to at least one of the side body panels, wherein one of the side body panels and the at least one base panel are integrally formed.
. A collapsible decoy according to claim 52 , wherein the keel is connected to at least one of the side body panels in a manner allowing the keel to pivot in the fore and aft directions relative to the decoy body.
. A collapsible decoy according to claim 52 , comprising two base panels, with one base panel integrally formed with one of the side body panels, and the other base panel integrally formed with the other side body panel.
. A collapsible decoy according to claim 54 , wherein the base panels overlap when the decoy is in the erect configuration.
. A collapsible decoy according to claim 55 , wherein the overlapping base panels comprise aligned slots for receipt of the pivotally adjusted keel, to thereby retain the decoy in an erected configuration.
. A collapsible decoy according to claim 52 , wherein the at least one base panel comprises a slot for receipt of the pivotally adjusted keel, to thereby retain the decoy in an erect configuration.
. A kit from which to construct a collapsible decoy as defined in claim 52.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
