Alleviation of symptoms associated with inflammatory disease states

Abstract

Disclosed are methods for the alleviation of symptoms associated with inflammatory disease states, and more particularly to the inhibition of amatory processes associated with the multiple sclerosis disease, by administering a pharmaceutically effective amount of antibody substance immunologically reactive with the common β chain (CD18) of human leukocyte integrins and/or competes with mAb 60.3 for binding to human LPA-1.

1 . A method for inhibition of inflammatory processes and alleviation of symptoms associated with the multiple sclerosis disease state comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of an anti-CD18 integrin-antibody substance.  
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said anti-CD18 antibody is mAb 60.3.  
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said anti-CD18 antibody is mAb 23F2G.  
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said anti-CD18 antibody is a recombinant human antibody comprising a murine complimentarily determining region of mAb 23F2G.  
     
     
         5 . Hybridoma cell line 23F2G, A.T.C.C. HB11081.  
     
     
         6 . Monoclonal antibody 23F2G produced by hybridoma cell line 23F2G, A.T.C.C. HB 11081.  
     
     
         7 . A method for inhibition of inflammatory processes and alleviation of symptoms associated with the multiple sclerosis disease state comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of monoclonal antibody which competes with mAb 60.3 for binding to LFA-1.
