Abstract

A baseball equipment bag having an elongated bag portion of flexible material and a substantially planar interior shelf within the elongated bag portion. The interior shelf is permanently secured to the elongated bag portion. A removable panel is capable of being removed to substantially fully expose the interior shelf. The removable panel can be removed from the bag to facilitate the application of commercial printing thereon. The equipment bag includes a bat compartment which allows a bat to be accessed from either of two openings. The equipment bag is capable of collapsing to a substantially flat configuration when not in use.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A multi-purpose sports equipment bag comprising:
an elongated bag having a top, bottom, left and right sides, front and back forming a flexible enclosure having an interior space, said elongated bag having a length defined between said top and bottom; an interior rear panel extending between said left and right sides and oriented substantially parallel to said back, said interior rear panel dividing said interior space into a front compartment and a rear compartment; a shelf pivotably attaching to said interior rear panel, said shelf having a first position and a second position, said shelf in said first position is substantially perpendicular to said interior rear panel and said shelf in said second position is substantially parallel with said interior panel; a first opening in said elongated bag providing access to said rear compartment; a second opening in said elongated bag providing access to said front compartment; a carrying strap attached to said elongated bag for transporting said elongated bag in a substantially horizontal position in which said elongated bag length is substantially horizontal; and a fence clip attached to said elongated bag, said fence clip adapted to clip to a fence to hang said elongated bag in a vertical position in which said elongated bag length is substantially vertical.

2 . The equipment bag of claim 1 , wherein said shelf releasably attaches to said left and right sides in said first position.

3 . The equipment bag of claim 1 , wherein said shelf is releasably attached to said interior rear panel.

4 . The equipment bag of claim 1 , wherein said shelf is substantially rigid.

5 . The equipment bag of claim 1 , wherein said second opening also provides access to said rear compartment.

6 . The equipment bag of claim 1 , wherein said second opening has an open position adapted to fully expose items placed on said shelf while in said first position with said elongate bag hanging vertically from said fence clip.

7 . The equipment bag of claim 6 , wherein said shelf in said first position is horizontal when said elongate bag hangs vertically from said fence clip.

8 . The equipment bag of claim 1 , wherein said shelf is substantially planar.

9 . The equipment bag of claim 1 , wherein said shelf extends substantially between said left and right sides.

         10 . A multi-purpose sports equipment bag comprising:
an elongated bag having a top, bottom, left and right sides, front and rear portion forming a flexible enclosure having an interior space, said elongated bag having a length defined between said top and bottom; a shelf pivotably attaching to said rear portion, said shelf having a first position and a second position, said shelf in said first position is substantially perpendicular to said rear portion and said shelf in said second position is substantially parallel with said rear portion; an opening in said elongated bag providing access to said interior space; a carrying strap attached to said elongated bag for transporting said elongated bag in a substantially horizontal position in which said elongated bag length is substantially horizontal; and a fence clip attached to said rear portion of said elongated bag, said fence clip adapted to clip to a fence to hang said elongated bag in a vertical position in which said elongated bag length is substantially vertical.
