Method and a form tie for producing a wall
Abstract
The present invention concerns a method for producing a wall or partition construction with essentially smooth surfaces. The method comprises the arrangement of opposite former sheets 8, 9 or equivalent surfaces at a distance from each other in order to form a former space with the aid of form ties 1 , parts of which are caused to extend through holes 7 in the former sheets 8, 9 and provided with stop means 13 , which are caused to come into contact with those surfaces of the former sheets 8, 9 that face the former space, and which form ties 1 are provided with retainers 4 on the surfaces of the former sheets 8, 9 that face away from the former space in order to maintain the former sheets 8, 9 or equivalent at a distance from each other, after which mortar or concrete in liquid form is added to the former space and caused to solidify. The form ties 1 are constituted by non-rusting material and are provided before application in the former space with breakage guides 13 ′, which are located essentially in the plane of the inner surfaces of the former sheets 8, 9 . The form ties 1 are caused to interact with supports and spacers 14 of non-rusting material, which are arranged to be in contact with the inner surfaces of the former sheets 8, 9 . The supports and spacers 14 are designed such that they allow the mortar or concrete in liquid form to be caused to surround them except for those parts that are in contact with the inner surfaces of the former sheets 8, 9 , the surfaces that face the former space. Following the solidification of the wall or partition construction, the retainers 4 and the former sheets 8, 9 are removed and the form ties 1 are broken at the breakage guides 13 ′. The invention also concerns a form tie 1 to be used when producing a wall or partition construction by the method described above.

10 . A method for producing a wall or partition having essentially smooth surfaces using a form comprising opposing former sheets set at a distance from each other, the former sheets thereby defining a form space, the former sheets maintained at the distance from each other via form ties that extend through corresponding holes in the former sheets, and further comprising a plurality of stops that abut the former sheets at an area within the form space, the form ties further comprising retainers that abut former sheets at an area outside the former space, the method comprising:
providing form ties manufactured from non-rusting material, the form ties comprising breakage guides located substantially within a plane defined by inner surfaces of the former sheet; contacting the form ties with a corresponding number of supports and spacers manufactured from non-rusting material, the supports and spacers in combination being in contact with an inner surface of the former sheets; disposing a liquid molding compound within the former space so that the molding compound completely surrounds the supports and spacers, except for the area where the supports and spacers contact with the inner surface of the former sheets; and then allowing the molding compound to set, and then removing the retainers and former sheets and breaking the form ties at the breakage guides.

A form tie comprising: a rod defining at least one breakage guide and at least one support and spacer that interacts with the rod, wherein the support and spacer comprises at least a first surface disposed substantially perpendicular to the rod, and further wherein the support and spacer is dimensioned and configured to be accessible to interact with a molding compound except for the first surface and that, when the form tie is mounted ready for use, the breakage guide in the rod is disposed substantially in the same plane as the first surface, and wherein the support and spacer and the rod are manufactured from non-rusting material.

The form tie according to claim 2 , wherein the rod comprises at least two breakage guides and at least two supports and spacers, and further wherein the two breakage guides are separated from each other at a distance that corresponds substantially to a desired thickness of a final wall or partition to be constructing using the form tie, and that at least the first surface of each support and spacer is positioned at a distance from the rod and substantially within the plane of the corresponding breakage guide.

The form tie according to claim 2 , further comprising a first stop that prevents a corresponding support and spacer from being displaced relative to the form tie in a direction toward its center; and a second stop that prevents the corresponding support and spacer from being displaced relative to the form tie in a direction away from its center, and wherein there is a distance between the first and the second stops such that each corresponding support and spacer can be displaced within a defined limit relative to the form tie; and further wherein the breakage guide is located on the form tie at a position relative to its center that lies behind the associated second stop; and further wherein each support and spacer comprises two legs, that are substantially equal in length, and that length corresponds substantially to the distance of the breakage guides from the first stop and whose ends define the first surface of each support and spacer.
14 . The form tie according to claim 1 , wherein the supports and spacers are permanently attached to the form tie.
15 . The form tie according to claim 5 , wherein the supports and spacers are attached to the form tie by welding.
16 . The form tie according to claim 2 , wherein the supports and spacers are bent from the material of the rod.
17 . The form tie according to claim 2 , wherein the supports and spacers comprise loops or rings disposed in a plane substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the form tie.
18 . The form tie according to claim 2 , wherein the supports and spacers are mutually arranged at an angle substantially non-parallel relative to the longitudinal axis of the form tie.
19 . The form tie according to claim 2 , wherein the supports and spacers are dimensioned and configured as substantially U-shaped profiles with a hole that accepts the rod and wherein the outer ends of the U-shaped profile contact the inner surfaces of the former sheets.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
