Abstract

The invention provides a fiber plate formed by arranging in mutually adjacent manner plural individual fiber plates of a same thickness so as to provide a light guiding plane larger in area than the light guiding plane of the individual one fiber plate, and a radiation image pickup apparatus utilizing such fiber plate, in which: each of the plural individual fiber plates is composed of a group of optical fibers having mutually parallel axes, and lateral faces of the plural individual fiber plates are mutually so bonded that the axes of the optical fibers thereof become mutually parallel.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 .- 54 . (Cancelled)

         55 . A light guiding fiber plate comprising an arrangement of a plurality of mutually adjacent individual fiber plates providing a light guiding plane larger in area than the light guiding plane of each said individual fiber plate;
 wherein lateral faces of said plurality of individual fiber plates are mutually bonded, and a said lateral face bonded to an adjacent fiber plate is a polished surface.

         56 . A light guiding fiber plate according to claim 55 , wherein a said lateral face not bonded to an adjacent fiber plate is a polished surface.

         57 . A method for producing the light guiding fiber plate according to claim 55 , comprising the steps of:
 polishing at least one surface of two of said adjacent fiber plates, bonding the polished surface mutually to the adjacent fiber plate, and polishing another surface of said polished fiber plate and polishing a common surface of a said two fiber plates.

         58 . A method according to  claim 57 , further comprising:
 a step of bonding said common polished surface to another polished surface of a third fiber plate.
