Abstract

A hose reel device includes a casing and a rotatable member having a mandrel is rotatably connected to a side of the casing. A first passage is defined through a wall of the casing so that the hose is wrapped around the mandrel via the first passage. A roller and a cam are respectively received in an opening defined in an outer surface of the casing and communicating with the first passage. The cam is connected to a lever on the side of the casing so that a gap between the roller and the cap can be adjusted by pivoting the lever. The water in the hose can be squeezed out by adjusting the gap.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A hose reel device comprising:
a casing having a recess defined in a side thereof, a first passage defined through a wall of the casing and communicating with the recess, an opening defined in an outer surface of the casing and communicating with the first passage, a roller and a cam respectively installed in the opening, the cam connected to a lever on the side of the casing so that a gap between the roller and the cap can be adjusted by pivoting the lever; a rotatable member engaged with the recess and having a mandrel which is rotatably connected to the casing, a second passage defined in the rotatable member, and a hose wrapped around the mandrel and one end of the hose extending through the first passage, the other end of the hose extending through the gap between the roller and the cap.

2 . The hose reel device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a hole is defined through the casing and communicating with the recess and the mandrel is rotatably engaged with the hole of the casing.

3 . The hose reel device as claimed in claim 2 , wherein a plurality of engaging hooks extending from a distal end of the mandrel and the engaging hooks rotatably engaged with an inner periphery of the hole.

4 . The hose reel device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the lever has one end fixed to a first shaft which extends through the casing and the cam, a notch defined in a side of the lever and the notch engaged with a second shaft which extends through the casing and the roller.

5 . The hose reel device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the casing has a receiving space defined in the outer surface thereof and a positioning member extends from the receiving space so as to engage with an end of the hose.

6 . The hose reel device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the rotatable member has a handle pivotably connected thereto.

7 . The hose reel device as claimed in claim 6 , wherein the rotatable member has a concavity for receiving the handle which has an end pivotably connected to a connection frame located at an end of the concavity.

8 . The hose reel device as claimed in claim 7 , wherein the connection frame includes two side walls and each side wall has a boss extending from an inside thereof, the end of the handle having two slots defined in two opposite sides thereof and a hole defined through the end of the handle, the two bosses being slid into the slots and engaged with the hole through the end of the handle.
