Abstract

The present invention relates to a hydrophilic substance production method characterized in that polyvinylpyrrolidone-containing material wetted with an aqueous solution of a cationic polymer is treated with radiation. The invention makes it possible to produce material for blood treatment that prevents adsorption of blood platelets.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A hydrophilic substance production method characterized in that polyvinylpyrrolidone-containing material wetted with an aqueous solution of a cationic polymer is treated with radiation.

2 . A hydrophilic substance production method according to claim 1 wherein the content of said cationic polymer in said solution is 0.1 wt % or more.

3 . A hydrophilic substance production method according to claim 1 wherein said cationic polymer is a polymer containing an amino group.

4 . A hydrophilic substance production method according to claim 3 wherein said polymer containing an amino group is one or more selected from the group of polyethyleneimine, diethylaminoethyl dextran, and their derivatives.

5 . A hydrophilic substance production method according to claim 1 wherein said polyvinylpyrrolidone-containing material contains both polyvinylpyrrolidone and a polysulfone-based polymer.

6 . A hydrophilic substance production method according to claim 1 wherein the product is in the form of a hollow fiber membrane.

7 . A hydrophilic substance production method according to claim 1 wherein the product is a separation membrane for artificial kidneys.

8 . A hydrophilic substance characterized in that it consists mainly of polyvinylpyrrolidone-containing material and a cationic polymer.

9 . A hydrophilic substance characterized in that said polyvinylpyrrolidone-containing material and said cationic polymer are in a water-insoluble state.

         10 . A hydrophilic substance produced by a method according to claim 1 .

11 . An artificial kidney containing a hydrophilic substance according to claim 10.
