Abstract
Disclosed is a construction bracket supporting temporary construction structures such as safety railings and scaffolding which are composed of construction members such as steel or wooden beams. The bracket has a support plate and a substantially hollow column member extending upwardly from the support plate. The column member is provided with at least one aperture adapted to receive a tightening member for securing the construction members to the column member.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A bracket for supporting temporary construction structures composed of construction members, the bracket comprising;
(a) a support plate; (b) a substantially hollow column member extending upwardly from said support plate, said column member being adapted to receive an elongated construction member mounted substantially perpendicular to the support plate; said column member being provided with at least one tightening aperture, said tightening aperture being adapted to receive a tightener for securing the construction members to the column member, said column member being further provided with a lateral aperture for receiving a construction member mounted substantially parallel to said support plate.
2 . A bracket as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said support plate is provided with securement apertures.
3 . A bracket as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said support plate is provided with a support plate aperture within said column member.
4 . A bracket as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said column member is provided with a lateral aperture for receiving a construction member mounted generally parallel to said support plate.
5 . A bracket as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said tightener is at least one threaded bolt and wherein said at least one tightening apertures are provided with internal threads for receiving said at least one threaded bolt.
6 . A bracket as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said column member is provided with at least one vertically extending slot.
7 . A bracket as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said column member has a generally rectilinear horizontal cross-section.
8 . A bracket as claimed in claim 7 , wherein said column member has a front wall, a rear wall and two side walls joining said front wall to said rear wall.
9 . A bracket as claimed in claim 8 , wherein said front wall and said rear wall are provided with corresponding opposed lateral apertures for receiving a construction member through said column member.
10 . A bracket as claimed in claim 9 , wherein said lateral apertures are disposed towards one of said side walls.
11 . A bracket as claimed in claim 8 , wherein at least one of said side walls is provided with at least one tightening aperture for receiving said tightener.
12 . A bracket as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said support plate has a plate centerpoint, and wherein said column member is mounted about a column centerpoint on said support plate, said column centerpoint being laterally displaced from said plate centerpoint.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
