Private branch exchange system

Abstract

A private branch exchange has a terminating classification table for storing, in connection with terminating information transmitted through an outside line circuit, destining extension numbers and additional parameters by relating them to each other and a control unit for controlling the above components. When a call terminates at the outside: line circuit, the control unit picks up a destining extension number corresponding to terminating information from the terminating classification table, delivers a terminating signal from a corresponding extension line circuit and also delivers a corresponding additional parameter in the form of an additional parameter signal from the inside line circuit.

         20 . A private branch exchange that is operable to be connected with a plurality of extension telephones and a storage unit for storage of response messages, said storage unit for receiving a specified signal from said exchange so as to transmit to said exchange a voice message corresponding to said signal, said private branch exchange comprising: 
 an outside line circuit for connection to an outside line;    an extension line circuit for connection with said storage unit and at least one of the extension telephones;    a memory that stores terminating information in relation with an incoming call and an additional parameter in a state where the terminating information and the additional parameter are related to each other; and    a transmitter that transmits to said storage unit the additional parameter corresponding to the terminal information and a telephone number of a calling party according to the incoming call.    
     
     
         21 . The private branch exchange of  claim 20 , wherein said terminating information is a telephone number of the called party transmitted from an office exchange to said outside line circuit.  
     
     
         22 . The private branch exchange of  claim 20 , further comprising a setting device that sets conditions for said memory.  
     
     
         23 . A private branch exchange operable to be connected with a plurality of extension telephones and a storage unit for storage of response messages, said storage unit for receiving a specified signal from said exchange so as to transmit to said exchange a voice message corresponding to said signal, said private branch exchange comprising: 
 an outside line circuit for connection to an outside line;    an extension line circuit for connection with said storage unit and at least one of the extension telephones;    a memory that stores a telephone number of an incoming call and an additional parameter in a state where the telephone number and the additional parameter are related to each other; and    a transmitter that transmits to said storage unit the additional parameter corresponding to the telephone number.    
     
     
         24 . The private branch exchange of  claim 23 , wherein said transmitter further transmits to said storage unit a telephone number of a calling party according to the incoming call.  
     
     
         25 . A private branch exchange operable to be connected with a plurality of extension telephones and a storage unit for storage of response messages, said storage unit for receiving a specified signal from said exchange so as to transmit to said exchange a voice message corresponding to said signal, said private branch exchange comprising: 
 an outside line circuit for connection to an outside line;    an extension line circuit for connection with said storage unit and at least one of the extension telephones;    a memory that stores a trunk number of said outside line circuit at which a calling signal is received and an additional parameter in a state where the trunk number and the additional parameter are related to each other; and    a transmitter that transmits to said storage unit the additional parameter corresponding to the trunk number.    
     
     
         26 . The private branch exchange of  claim 25 , wherein said transmitter further transmits to said storage unit a telephone number of a calling party according to the incoming call.  
     
     
         27 . The private branch exchange of  claim 25 , wherein said memory stores a telephone number of a calling party in connection with the additional parameter and the trunk number.  
     
     
         28 . A private branch exchange comprising: 
 an outside line circuit for connection with an outside line;    an extension line circuit for connection with an automatic responder and at least one extension telephone;    a memory that stores, in connection with terminating information of a call transmitted through said outside line circuit, a terminating classification table including an extension number and an additional parameter in a state where the extension number and the additional parameter are related to each other; and    a controller that controls said outside line circuit, said extension line circuit, and said memory, wherein:    when the call is received at said outside line circuit, said controller takes out said extension number corresponding to the terminating information in relation with the call from the terminating classification table, delivers a calling signal through said extension line circuit, delivers the additional parameter corresponding to the extension number through said extension line circuit, and delivers a telephone number of the calling party.    
     
     
         29 . The private branch exchange of  claim 28 , wherein said terminating information comprises a telephone number of the called party transmitted from an office exchange to said outside line circuit.  
     
     
         30 . The private branch exchange of  claim 28 , wherein the additional parameter, together with an incoming signal, is transmitted from said extension line circuit.  
     
     
         31 . The private branch exchange of  claim 28 , wherein after an automatic responder has responded, the additional parameter is transmitted to said extension line circuit.  
     
     
         32 . The private branch exchange of  claim 28  further comprising an additional parameter signal generator for generating a DTMF signal as the additional parameter.  
     
     
         33 . The private branch exchange of  claim 28 , wherein said terminating information further includes the telephone number of the calling party.  
     
     
         34 . The private branch exchange of  claim 28 , wherein said memory stores the telephone number of the calling party in connection with the terminating classification table.  
     
     
         35 . A private branch exchange comprising: 
 an outside line circuit for connection with an outside line;    an extension line circuit for connection with an automatic responder and at least one extension telephone;    a memory that stores, in connection with a trunk number of said outside line circuit which has received an incoming call, a terminating classification table including an extension number and an additional parameter in a state where the extension number and the additional parameter are related to each other; and    a controller that controls said outside line circuit, said extension line circuit, and said memory, wherein:    when said call is received at said outside line circuit, said controller takes out said extension number corresponding to the trunk number of the call from the terminating classification table, delivers a calling signal through said extension line circuit, and delivers the additional parameter corresponding to the extension number through said extension line circuit.    
     
     
         36 . A private branch exchange comprising: 
 an outside line circuit for connection with an outside line;    an extension line circuit for connection with an automatic responder and at least one extension telephone;    a memory that stores, in connection with terminating information transmitted through said outside line circuit, a terminating classification table including an extension number and an additional parameter in a state where the extension number and the additional parameter are related to each other; and    a controller that controls said outside line circuit, said extension line circuit, and said memory, wherein when a call is received at said outside line circuit:    said controller takes out said extension number corresponding to the terminating information of the call from the terminating classification table, delivers a calling signal through said extension line circuit, and delivers the additional parameter corresponding to the extension number through said extension line circuit, and a telephone number of the calling party, together with the additional parameter, is transmitted from said extension line circuit.    
     
     
         37 . A private branch exchange comprising: 
 an outside line circuit for connection with an outside line;    an extension line circuit for connection with an automatic responder and at least one extension telephone;    a memory that stores, in connection with terminating information transmitted through said outside line circuit, a terminating classification table including an extension number and an additional parameter in a state where the extension number and the additional parameter are related to each other; and    a controller that controls said outside line circuit, said extension line circuit, and said memory,    wherein when a call is received at said outside line circuit:    said controller takes out said extension number corresponding to the terminating information in relation with the call from said terminating classification table, delivers a calling signal through said extension line circuit, and delivers the additional parameter corresponding to the extension number through said extension line circuit, and    when the call, once responded to by said extension telephone, is to be transferred to another extension line circuit, the terminating information of the call to be transferred is taken out of said terminating classification table for use in delivering the calling signal from said another extension line circuit and delivering the additional parameter from said another extension line circuit.    
     
     
         38 . A private branch exchange comprising: 
 an outside line circuit for connection with an outside line;    an extension line circuit for connection with an automatic responder and at least one extension telephone;    a memory that stores, in connection with an outside trunk number or a connection destination telephone number, a terminating classification table including an extension number and an additional parameter in a state where the extension number and the additional parameter are related to each other; and    a controller that controls said outside line circuit, said extension line circuit, and said memory, wherein:    when a call is received at said outside line circuit, said controller takes out said extension number, corresponding to the terminating information in relation with the call from the terminating classification table, delivers the calling signal through said extension line circuit, and delivers the additional parameter corresponding to the extension number in the form of an additional parameter signal through said extension line circuit.    
     
     
         39 . A private branch exchange comprising: 
 an outside line circuit for connection with an outside line;    an extension line circuit for connection with an automatic responder and at least one extension telephone;    a memory that stores, in connection with terminating information transmitted through said outside line circuit, a terminating classification table including an extension number and an additional parameter in a state where the extension number and the additional parameter are related to each other;    a controller that controls said outside line circuit, said extension line circuit, and said memory; and    a setting device that sets up the terminating classification table, wherein:    when a call is received at said outside line circuit, said controller takes out said extension number corresponding to the terminating information in relation with the call from the terminating classification table, delivers a calling signal through said extension line circuit, and delivers the additional parameter corresponding to the extension number through said extension line circuit.    
     
     
         40 . A private branch exchange comprising: 
 an outside line circuit connectable with an outside line;    an extension line circuit connectable with an automatic responder and an extension telephone;    a memory that stores, in connection with the telephone number of the calling party, a terminating classification table including an extension number and an additional parameter in a state where the extension number and the additional parameter are related to each other;    a controller that controls said outside line circuit, said extension line circuit and said memory, wherein:    when a call is received at an outside line circuit, said controller takes out said extension number corresponding to the trunk number in relation with the call from the terminating classification table, delivers the calling signal through said corresponding extension line circuit and also delivers the additional parameter corresponding to the extension number through said corresponding extension line circuit.
