Abstract
The present invention is directed to a storage stable package of a iodophor containing particulate pharmaceutically acceptable carrier compositions. The invention is particularly directed to a storage stable package of a PVP-iodine liposome compositions. The packaging material is generally plastic, paper or cardboard.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A storage stable package comprising a dry, iodophor-containing, particulate, pharmaceutically acceptable carrier composition in a plastic material, paper or cardboard package.
2 . A storage stable package according to claim 1 , wherein the package is a plastic bottle or container.
3 . A storage stable package according to claim 2 , wherein the iodophor is povidone iodine.
4 . A storage stable package according to claim 3 , wherein the composition does not contain a stabilizer selected from the group comprising iodide salts, iodate salts and alkanizing agents.
5 . A storage stable package according to claim 4 , wherein the dry particulate composition comprises at least one particulate carrier selected from the group of liposome compositions, microsphere compositions, nanoparticle compositions, large porous particle compositions and laser-pulse polymer coated molecule preparations.
6 . A storage stable package according to claim 5 , wherein at least a part of the iodophor is encapsulated inside the carrier.
7 . A storage stable package according to claim 6 , wherein the particulate composition comprises a liposome composition.
8 . A storage stable package according to claim 7 , wherein the liposome composition is freeze-dried.
9 . A storage stable package according to claim 8 , wherein the plastic bottle or container is made of polypropylene (PP), Polyethylene (PE), cycloolefine copolymer (COC), silicone, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), polyvinylchlorid (PVC), ethylene vinylalkohol (EVOH), polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or mixtures thereof.
10 . A storage stable package according to claim 9 , wherein the plastic bottle or container is made of a material that reacts with elemental iodine, gets stained by elemental iodine or elemental iodine leaches through the material, under storing conditions.
11 . A storage stable package according to claim 10 , wherein the composition additionally contains additional anti-inflammatory agents which promotes the healing of wounds.
12 . A storage stable package according to claim 11 , wherein the anti-inflammatory agent is an germicidal agent, an antibiotic a coricosteroid or a wound healing promoting agent.
13 . A storage stable package according to claim 12 , wherein the wound healing promoting agent is selected from agents promoting granulation and ephithelization such as dexpanthenol, allantoines, azulenes, tannins, compounds from the vitamin B series, and similarly acting agents.
14 . A storage stable package according to claim 13 , wherein the carrier particles, especially liposomes, have before they are dried a substantially uniform size in the range between about 1 and about 100 μm, preferably in the range between about 1 μm and about 70 μm.
15 . A storage stable package according to claim 14 , wherein the composition can be transformed to the applicable preparation upon mixing with a liquid pharmaceutically acceptable medium.
16 . A storage stable package according to claim 15 , wherein the liquid pharmaceutically acceptable medium comprises compounds selected from the group consisting of water, oil, ointment basis substances and gel forming substances.
17 . A storage stable package according to claim 16 , wherein the carrier, especially liposome, composition contains additives and adjuvants such as conserving agents, antioxidants and consistency-forming additives.
18 . Use of a dry iodophor containing particulate pharmaceutically acceptable carrier composition to provide a storage stable package of said dry iodophor containing particulate pharmaceutically acceptable carrier composition in a plastic bottle or container.
19 . A method of providing a iodophor containing pharmaceutical preparation ready for application comprising the steps of:
a. providing a iodophor containing particulate pharmaceutically acceptable carrier preparation, b. freeze-drying the iodophor containing particulate pharmaceutically acceptable carrier preparation to obtain a dry composition, c. placing the freeze-dried iodophor containing particulate pharmaceutically acceptable carrier composition in a plastic bottle or container to form a storage stable package, and d. mixing the freeze-dried iodophor containing composition with a pharmaceutically acceptable liquid medium to provide the applicable preparation.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
