Mobile electronic communication device and covering for similar devices with ornament attachment mechanism

Abstract

A mobile electronics communications device with a housing and an ornament attachment mechanism. The ornament attachment mechanism provides the ability to customize the appearance of the device in a more personal and unique manner. A covering for a mobile electronics communication device with an ornament attachment mechanism provides the ability to customize the appearance of devices that have replaceable coverings in a similar manner. The ornament attachment mechanisms can be realized in a variety of ways including, but not limited to, the housing or body having a hole, a penetrable membrane, an appendage, or an appendage with a ring.

         39 . A mobile electronic communication device, comprising: 
 an electronics unit; and    a housing containing the electronics unit, the housing including an ornamental attachment mechanism which has a primary function of facilitating attachment of an ornament to decorate or adorn the mobile electronic communication device.

The mobile electronic communication device of  claim 39  wherein the housing comprises a top, a bottom, a first side coupling the top and the bottom, the first side having a first curvature and a second side coupling the top and the bottom, the second side having a second curvature.  
     
     
         41 . The mobile electronic communication device of  claim 40  wherein the first curvature and the second curvature differ.  
     
     
         42 . The mobile electronic communication device of  claim 40  wherein the housing further comprises a penetrable membrane.  
     
     
         43 . The mobile electronic communication device of  claim 39 , wherein the ornamental attachment mechanism comprises a section of the housing having a hole formed therein.  
     
     
         44 . The mobile electronic communication device of  claim 43 , wherein the hole is formed completely through the housing.  
     
     
         45 . The mobile electronic communication device of  claim 44 , wherein the hole has an opening with a front end and a back end, the hole providing a straight line of sight between the front and back ends of the opening.  
     
     
         46 . The mobile electronic communication device of  claim 39 , wherein the ornamental attachment mechanism has a portion that models a body part.

The mobile electronic communication device of  claim 39 , wherein the ornamental attachment mechanism consists of a mechanism selected from the group consisting of an appendage, a penetrable membrane, an appendage with a ring and a section of the housing having a hole formed therein.  
     
     
         48 . A covering for attachment to a mobile electronic communication device, the covering comprising an ornamental attachment mechanism which has a primary function of facilitating attachment of an ornament to decorate or adorn the mobile electronic communication device.  
     
     
         49 . The covering of  claim 48  wherein the covering comprises a top, a bottom, a first side coupling the top and the bottom, the first side having a first curvature and a second side coupling the top and the bottom, the second side having a second curvature.

 an electronics unit; and    a housing containing the electronics unit, the housing including an ornamental attachment mechanism which has a primary function of facilitating attachment of an ornament to decorate or adorn the cellular telephone.
