System and method for caddying a wedge and putter to a golf green
Abstract
A system for caddying selected golf clubs such as a wedge and putter to a golf green using an elongated container with optional compartments. The container can fit into a conventional golf bag. The container can have one or more spikes on the bottom of the container. A retractable, preferably sliding, cover can cover the spike when the system is in the golf bag or not anchored. The cover can be spring loaded so that pressing the container against the ground causes the cover to retract exposing the spike. The spring loading causes the cover to slide back to the protective position when the container is removed from the ground.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A system for caddying golf clubs to a green comprising:
an elongated container module with an upper and lower end for holding at least two golf clubs, said container module fitting in a golf bag; at least one spike located on the lower end of said container module for anchoring said container module when in use; a sliding cover located at the lower end of said container module, said cover sliding upward co-axially along said container module revealing said spike when said container module is pushed downward against the ground.
2 . The system of claim 1 further comprising a vertical partition in said container module, said vertical partition dividing said container module lengthwise into a plurality of elongated sections, whereby different golf clubs can be placed in different sections.
3 . The system of claim 1 further comprising at least one spring in communication with said cover and said container module resisting said upward sliding.
4 . The system of claim 1 wherein said at least two golf clubs comprise a wedge and a putter.
5 . The system of claim 3 wherein said spring causes said cover to slide downward hiding said spike when said container module is lifted from the ground.
6 . The system of claim 1 further comprising a lift-out strap on the upper end of said container module, whereby said strap is used to lift said container module from said golf bag.
7 . The system of claim 1 further comprising at least two spikes on the lower end of said container module.
8 . The system of claim 1 further comprising a control lever located on an outside surface of said container module for extending or retracting said cover.
9 . The system of claim 1 wherein said compartments are approximately cylindrical.
10 . A device for transporting a wedge and putter to a golf green comprising:
a tubular container with two compartments, one compartment for holding a wedge and one compartment for holding a putter; a fixed spike in communication with said tubular container that holds said device upright on a course; a retractable cover covering said spike, said cover co-axial with said tubular container, said cover retracting as said tubular container is pressed against the ground exposing said spike as said cover retracts.
11 . The device of claim 10 further comprising a spring in communication with said retractable cover.
12 . The device of claim 10 wherein said retractable is controlled by a lever on a side of said tubular container.
13 . The device of claim 10 further comprising a second spike in communication with said tubular container.
14 . The device of claim 10 further comprising a lift-out strap attached to said tubular container.
15 . A method of caddying a wedge and putter to a golf green comprising the steps of:
placing a wedge and putter in an elongated container module with an upper and lower end for holding at least two golf clubs in at least two separate compartments; providing at least one spike located on the lower end of said container module for anchoring said container module when in use; providing a retractable cover covering said spike when said container module is not anchored; causing said cover to retract when said contain module is pressed against the ground allowing said spike to penetrate the ground anchoring said container module.
16 . The method of claim 15 wherein said retractable cover is in communication with a spring.
17 . The method of claim 15 wherein said elongated container includes a lift-out strap.
18 . The method of claim 15 wherein said retractable cover is controlled with a lever on an outside surface of said elongated container.
19 . A system for caddying golf clubs to a green comprising:
an elongated container module with an upper and lower end for holding at least two golf clubs in at least two separate compartments, said container module fitting in a golf bag; at least one spike located on the lower end of said container module for anchoring said container module when in use; a cover around the lower end of said elongated cover that covers said spike when said spike is not in use, said cover sliding upward to expose said spike when said spike is in use.
20 . The system of claim 19 further comprising at least one spring in communication with said cover.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
