Abstract
The present invention relates to a solid alkaline cleaning composition including encapsulated bleach and suitable for cleaning under conditions in which a high foaming cleaner is desirable.

1 . A solid alkaline cleaning composition comprising:
about 20 to about 70 wt-% source of alkalinity; about 5 to about 60 wt-% sequestrant; about 1 to about 50 wt-% foaming surfactant blend; and about 10 to about 70 wt-% of an encapsulated bleach
2 . The composition of claim 1 , having a form of powder, flake, granule, pellet, tablet, lozenge, puck, briquette, brick, solid block, or unit dose.
3 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the foaming surfactant blend comprises nonionic and anionic surfactant.
4 . The composition of claim 3 , wherein the foaming surfactant blend comprises amine oxide, sulfate, and sulfonate surfactants.
5 . The composition of claim 4 , wherein the foaming surfactant blend comprises 0.5-3 parts amine oxide surfactant, 1-6 parts sulfate surfactant, and 1-6 parts sulfonate surfactant.
6 . The composition of claim 5 , wherein the foaming surfactant blend comprises 0.6 parts amine oxide surfactant, 4 parts sulfate surfactant, and 4 parts sulfonate surfactant.
7 . The composition of claim 3 , wherein the foaming surfactant blend comprises 1 part nonionic and 2-20 parts anionic surfactant.
8 . The composition of claim 5 , further comprising 0.5-2 parts alkylcarboxylate surfactant.
9 . The composition of claim 8 , comprising 1 part alkylcarboxylate surfactant.
10 . The composition of claim 4 , further comprising alkylcarboxylate.
11 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the source of alkalinity comprises sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, alkali metal borate, alkali metal silicate, alkali metal carbonate, amine, or mixture thereof.
12 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the sequestrant comprises a polyacrylate, a phosphinopolycarboxylate, a tripolyphosphate, or a combination thereof.
13 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the encapsulated bleach comprises core of active chlorine material and outer layer of solid surfactant.
14 . The composition of claim 13 , wherein the encapsulated bleach further comprises inner coating, which comprises inorganic material.
