Abstract
A game board system including a bottom portion with a cup centered on its surface, a rotatable member provided on the bottom portion and including game piece apertures, an outer top portion provided on the bottom portion, and an inner stationary top portion superposed on the rotatable frame and including second game piece apertures. Portions of the game board system may be exchanged to form a new game board system. Additionally, the game board system may be played according to several versions.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A game board system comprising:
a bottom portion with a cup centered thereon; a rotatable member provided on said bottom portion, said rotatable member including first game piece apertures therein; an outer top portion provided on said bottom portion; and an inner stationary top portion superposed on said rotatable member and including second game piece apertures therein.
2 . The game board system according to claim 1 , said rotatable member comprising:
a rotatable frame provided in said bottom portion and rotatable about said cup; and a plurality of planar elements supported by said rotatable frame, each said planar element including a plurality of said first game piece apertures.
3 . The game board system according to claim 2 , wherein each said planar element is substantially pie shaped.
4 . The game board system according to claim 2 , wherein said rotatable frame includes a central aperture and said cup includes a step extending around the exterior surface thereof, wherein said step supports said rotatable frame thereon with said central aperture positioned around said cup.
5 . The game board system according to claim 2 , further comprising:
handles provided on said rotatable frame to control rotation of said rotatable frame.
6 . The game board system according to claim 1 , wherein said inner stationary top portion is substantially planar and disk shaped.
7 . The game board system according to claim 6 , wherein:
said inner stationary top portion includes a central aperture therein and said cup includes a step extending around the exterior surface thereof, wherein said step supports said inner stationary top portion thereon with said center aperture positioned around said cup.
8 . The game board system according to claim 7 , wherein:
said cup includes a pair of elements extending outwardly therefrom, and said inner stationary top portion includes a pair of cut outs cooperating with said pair of elements to prevent rotation of said inner stationary top portion around said cup.
9 . The game board system according to claim 7 , further comprising:
an o-ring provided on the exterior surface of said cup to hold said inner stationary top portion stationary relative to said cup.
10 . The game board system according to claim 1 , further comprising:
a top opening provided in said cup; and a cover provided in said top opening, said cover holding game pieces within said cup when not in play.
11 . The game board system according to claim 1 , wherein said bottom portion comprises:
a box having a bottom; and a plurality of walls extending from said bottom and surrounding said rotatable member, said outer top portion, and said inner top portion.
12 . The game board system according to claim 11 , wherein said box has a substantially square interior receiving portion; and
said outer top portion includes a substantially square shape with corners removed, so that corners of said box and said removed corners of said outer top portion form openings allowing game pieces to be removed.
13 . The game board system according to claim 12 , wherein said rotatable member is substantially planar with a circular periphery; and
said outer top portion including a central aperture therein, so that said rotatable member is positioned within said central aperture.
14 . The game board system according to claim 1 , wherein:
said first game piece apertures include some game piece apertures having a diameter that allows passage of a game piece and some game piece apertures having a diameter that prevents passage of a game piece; and said second game piece apertures having a diameter that allows passage of a game piece; wherein a second game piece aperture in said inner top portion aligned with a first game piece aperture in said rotatable member having a diameter that allows passage of a game piece, allows passage of a game piece through to the bottom portion; and a second game piece aperture in said inner top portion aligned with a first game piece aperture in said rotatable member having a diameter that prevents passage of a game piece, prevents passage of a game piece through to the bottom portion.
15 . A method of operating a game board system comprising:
providing a game board system including:
a bottom portion with a cup centered thereon;
a rotatable member provided on said bottom portion, said rotatable member including first game piece apertures therein;
an outer top portion provided on said bottom portion; and
an inner stationary top portion superposed on said rotatable member and including second game piece apertures therein;
providing game pieces; positioning the game pieces at the periphery of the game board system; and moving a game piece from the periphery of the game board system to a second aperture in said inner stationary top portion in accordance with the roll of a die.
16 . The method of operating a game board system according to claim 15 , further comprising:
moving a game piece to a series of second apertures in said inner stationary top portion in accordance with multiple rolls of a die.
17 . The method of operating a game board system according to claim 16 , further comprising:
moving a game piece from a second aperture in said inner stationary top portion into the cup in accordance with a roll of a die.
18 . The method of operating a game board system according to claim 17 , further comprising:
rotating said rotatable member and stopping at a position according to a roll of a die.
19 . The method of operating a game board system according to claim 18 , wherein said first game piece apertures include some game piece apertures having a diameter that allows passage of a game piece and some game piece apertures having a diameter that prevents passage of a game piece, and said second game piece apertures having a diameter that allows passage of a game piece, said method further comprising:
stopping said rotatable member at a position according to a roll of a die; aligning a second game piece aperture in said inner top portion with a first game piece aperture in said rotatable member having a diameter that allows passage of a game piece, allowing passage of a game piece through to the bottom portion; and aligning a second game piece aperture in said inner top portion with a first game piece aperture in said rotatable member having a diameter that prevents passage of a game piece, preventing passage of a game piece through to the bottom portion.
20 . The method of operating a game board system according to claim 15 , wherein the rotatable member includes a rotatable frame provided in said bottom portion and rotatable about said cup, and a plurality of planar elements supported by said rotatable frame, each said planar element including a plurality of said first game piece apertures, said method further comprising:
exchanging the plurality of planar elements for a second set of planar elements, changing the pattern of first game piece apertures therein.
21 . A game board system comprising:
a bottom portion; a rotatable member rotatably supported relative to said bottom portion, said rotatable member including first game piece apertures therein; an outer top portion provided on said bottom portion; and an inner stationary top portion superposed on said rotatable member and including second game piece apertures therein.
22 . The game board system according to claim 21 , said rotatable member comprising:
a rotatable frame provided in said bottom portion and rotatably supported on said bottom portion; and a plurality of planar elements supported by said rotatable frame, each said planar element including a plurality of said first game piece apertures.
23 . The game board system according to claim 22 , wherein each said planar element is substantially pie shaped.
24 . The game board system according to claim 22 , wherein said rotatable frame includes a central aperture, and a cup is provided on said bottom portion, said cup includes a step extending around the exterior surface thereof, wherein said step supports said rotatable frame thereon with said central aperture positioned around said cup.
25 . The game board system according to claim 21 , wherein said rotatable member comprises a generally planar disc-shaped member rotatably supported at one of the center thereof and the periphery thereof relative to the bottom portion, and said disc-shaped member includes a plurality of said first game piece apertures therein.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
