Use of thiazole deirvatives for the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Abstract

The present invention provides a useful and highly safe agent for curing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, which contains, as the effective ingredient, at least one compound selected from the group consisting of thiazole derivatives and salts thereof represented by the general formula (1), wherein, R 1 is a phenyl group which may have 1 to 3 lower alkoxy groups as the substituents on the phenyl ring; R 2 is a pyridyl group which may have 1 to 3 carboxyl groups as the substituents on the pyridine ring.

Use of a compound for the production of a medicament for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, which medicament comprises, as the effective ingredient, at least one compound selected from the group consisting of thiazole derivatives and salts thereof represented by the general formula (1),  
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
       
       wherein R 1  is a phenyl group which may have 1 to 3 lower alkoxy groups as the substituents on the phenyl ring; R 2  is a pyridyl group which may have 1 to 3 carboxyl groups as the substituents on the pyridine ring.  
     
     
         2 . The use according to  claim 1 , wherein the thiazole derivative is 6-[2-(3,4-diethoxyphenyl)-thiazol-4-yl]pyridine-2-carboxylic acid.
