Abstract
A produce cleaning device provides a simple, thorough system for cleaning produce. A container, preferably bag-shaped, is made from a porous, durable material. The container includes an opening through which produce is inserted. At least the internal surface of the container is abrasive. Produce is placed inside the container and the abrasive surface cleans the outer surface of the produce.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An apparatus for cleaning produce, comprising:
a porous, flexible container including an inner surface and an outer surface wherein at least one of the surfaces is abrasive, the container further including at least one opening.
2 . An apparatus for cleaning produce as set forth in claim 1 wherein the opening is large enough for the produce to be inserted into the container.
3 . An apparatus for cleaning produce as set forth in claim 1 wherein the opening includes an elastic edge.
4 . An apparatus for cleaning produce as set forth in claim 1 wherein the opening is adjustable.
5 . An apparatus for cleaning produce as set forth in claim 4 wherein the container further includes a means for adjusting the opening.
6 . An apparatus for cleaning produce as set forth in claim 5 wherein the adjusting means is a loop attached to the container near the opening.
7 . An apparatus for cleaning produce as set forth in claim 1 wherein the container is made from a material which is durable, porous and water repellent.
8 . An apparatus for cleaning produce as set forth in claim 1 wherein the container is made from a material selected from the following: homopolymer, polyamide, polyethylene, polyurethane, or polypropylene.
9 . An apparatus for cleaning produce as set forth in claim 1 wherein the container is made from a porous, abrasive plastic material.
10 . An apparatus for cleaning produce as set forth in claim 1 wherein the container is made from a porous, abrasive woven material.
11 . An apparatus for cleaning produce as set forth in claim 1 wherein the container is made from an abrasive material having numerous holes which allow fluids to pass therethrough.
12 . An apparatus for cleaning produce as set forth in claim 1 wherein the outer surface of the container further includes at least one handle.
13 . An apparatus for cleaning produce as set forth in claim 1 wherein both the inner and outer surfaces are abrasive.
14 . An apparatus for cleaning produce, comprising:
a porous, flexible container including an inner surface and an outer surface wherein at least one of the surfaces is abrasive, the container being constructed from a durable, porous and water repellent material; and the container further including at least one adjustable opening having an elastic edge.
15 . An apparatus for cleaning produce as set forth in claim 14 wherein both the inner and outer surfaces are abrasive.
16 . An apparatus for cleaning produce as set forth in claim 14 wherein the container is made from a porous, abrasive plastic material.
17 . An apparatus for cleaning produce as set forth in claim 14 wherein the container is made from a porous, abrasive woven material.
18 . An apparatus for cleaning produce, comprising:
a porous, flexible container including an inner surface and an outer surface wherein the inner and outer surfaces are abrasive, the container being constructed from a durable, porous and water repellent material; and the container further including at least one adjustable opening having an elastic edge wherein the opening is adjusted by means of a loop attached to the container near the opening.
19 . An apparatus for cleaning produce as set forth in claim 18 wherein the container is made from a porous, abrasive plastic material.
20 . An apparatus for cleaning produce as set forth in claim 18 wherein the container is made from a porous, abrasive woven material.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
