Garment pairing device

Abstract

A garment pairing device for pairing a first garment and a second garment having an elastic device adapted for attachment to the first garment, where the elastic device is adapted to receive the second garment. The elastic device may be attached to the first garment with a pair of attaching devices, may have a logo and/or an applique, may have a cross-section which is generally rectangular or circular, may have a centerline where the elastic device is centered with respect to the centerline, may be attached to a back side of the first garment, may be attached to a reinforced portion of the first garment, and may have a greater elasticity than the first garment. Also, the first garment may be a first sock and the second garment may be a second sock, where the first sock further has a band.

I claim:  
     
         1 . A garment pairing device for pairing a first garment and a second garment, the garment pairing device comprising: 
 an elastic device adapted for attachment to the first garment;    wherein the elastic device is adapted to receive the second garment.    
     
     
         2 . The garment pairing device of  claim 1 , wherein the elastic device is attached to the first garment with a pair of attaching devices.  
     
     
         3 . The garment pairing device of  claim 1 , wherein the elastic device further comprises a logo.  
     
     
         4 . The garment pairing device of  claim 1 , wherein the elastic device has a cross-section which is generally rectangular.  
     
     
         5 . The garment pairing device of  claim 1 , wherein the elastic device has a cross-section which is generally circular.  
     
     
         6 . The garment pairing device of  claim 5 , wherein the cross-section has a diameter of less than 1.27 cm ({fraction (1/2)}″).  
     
     
         7 . The garment pairing device of  claim 6 , wherein the cross-section has a diameter of between 0.15875 cm ({fraction (1/16)}″) and 0.635 cm ({fraction (1/4)}″).  
     
     
         8 . The garment pairing device of  claim 1 , wherein the elastic device further comprises an applique.  
     
     
         9 . The garment pairing device of  claim 8 , wherein the applique further comprises a logo.  
     
     
         10 . The garment pairing device of  claim 1 , wherein the first garment has a centerline; and 
 wherein the elastic device is attached to the first garment such that the elastic device is centered with respect to the centerline.    
     
     
         11 . The garment pairing device of  claim 1 , wherein the elastic device is attached to a back side of the first garment.  
     
     
         12 . The garment pairing device of  claim 1 , wherein the elastic device is attached to a reinforced portion of the first garment.  
     
     
         13 . The garment pairing device of  claim 1 , wherein the first garment is a first sock and the second garment is a second sock; 
 wherein the first sock further comprises a band.    
     
     
         14 . The garment pairing device of  claim 13 , wherein the elastic device is attached to the band with a pair of attaching devices; 
 wherein the band has a peripheral band length;    wherein the elastic device has an unstretched peripheral elastic device length; and    wherein the unstretched peripheral elastic device length is less than one-half of the peripheral band length.    
     
     
         15 . The garment pairing device of  claim 14 , wherein the peripheral elastic device length is between one-quarter and one-third of the peripheral band length.  
     
     
         16 . The garment pairing device of  claim 13 , wherein the band has a band height; 
 wherein the elastic device has an elastic device height; and    wherein the band height is equal to the elastic device height.    
     
     
         17 . The garment pairing device of  claim 13 , wherein the band has a band thickness; 
 wherein the elastic device has an elastic device thickness; and    wherein the band thickness is equal to the elastic device thickness.    
     
     
         18 . The garment pairing device of  claim 1 , wherein the elastic device has a greater elasticity than the first garment.  
     
     
         19 . A garment pairing device for pairing a first sock and a second sock, the garment pairing device comprising: 
 an elastic device adapted for attachment to the first sock;    wherein the elastic device is adapted to receive the second sock;    wherein the elastic device has a cross-section which is generally rectangular;    wherein the first sock further comprises a band;    wherein the elastic device is attached to the band with a pair of attaching devices;    wherein the band has a peripheral band length;    wherein the elastic device has an unstretched peripheral elastic device length;    wherein the unstretched peripheral elastic device length is less than one-half of the peripheral band length; and    wherein the elastic device has a greater elasticity than the band of the first garment.    
     
     
         20 . A garment pairing device for pairing a first sock and a second sock, the garment pairing device comprising: 
 an elastic device adapted for attachment to the first sock;    wherein the elastic device is adapted to receive the second    wherein the elastic device has a cross-section which is generally circular;    wherein the first sock further comprises a band;    wherein the elastic device is attached to the band with a pair of attaching devices;    wherein the band has a peripheral band length;    wherein the elastic device has an unstretched peripheral elastic device length;    wherein the unstretched peripheral elastic device length is less than one-half of the peripheral band length; and    wherein the elastic device has a greater elasticity than the band of the first garment.
