Camera information recording apparatus for recording image data in an optical disk wherein managing information is stored when the residual storage of a battery decreases

Abstract

A video signal recording apparatus using an information recording medium, having: a unit for identifying and detecting a WO type information recording medium and a rewritable type information recording medium; a control unit for each of the WO type information recording medium and the rewritable type information recording medium; and a display apparatus for displaying a detection result of the detecting unit. In the video signal recording apparatus using the information recording medium, file management information to form a directory is recorded as intermediate information onto the information recording medium.

What is claimed is:  
     
         1 . An information recording apparatus comprising: 
 means for discriminating a WO type information recording medium and a rewritable type information recording medium;    control means for each of said WO type information recording medium and said rewritable type information recording medium; and    display means for displaying a result of said discrimination.    
     
     
         2 . An enclosing casing of an information recording medium, wherein said casing has an identifying unit for discriminating kinds of information recording media of a WO type and a rewritable type.  
     
     
         3 . An information recording medium on which identification information to discriminate kinds of information recording media of a WO type and a rewritable type has been recorded.  
     
     
         4 . An information recording apparatus for recording intermediate information to manage recorded file information onto an information recording medium.  
     
     
         5 . An apparatus according to  claim 4 , wherein when said information recording medium is ejected from said information recording apparatus, said intermediate information is recorded onto said information recording medium.  
     
     
         6 . An apparatus according to  claim 4 , wherein when there is a fear such that said information recording apparatus cannot normally record information onto said information recording medium, said intermediate information is recorded onto said information recording medium.  
     
     
         7 . An apparatus according to  claim 4 , wherein final file management information is formed from said intermediate information and is recorded onto said information recording medium.  
     
     
         8 . An apparatus according to  claim 7 , wherein as said file management information which is recorded to an information recording medium of a WO type or a rewritable type, information of both of a Universal Disk Format and an ISO9660 standard of an International Standardization Organization is recorded.  
     
     
         9 . An apparatus according to  claim 4  or  7 , further comprising means for changing file management information of a WO type information recording medium, thereby making it impossible to access to a designated file.  
     
     
         10 . An apparatus according to  claim 4  or  7 , further comprising means for overwriting arbitrary information to recorded information of a WO type information recording medium.
