Shopping display an writing surface assistant

Abstract

A shopping display and writing surface device, similar in nature to a clipboard, may be mounted on a shopping cart handle or the like. The device generally has a clamping device for connection to the shopping cart handle, a bracket connected to the clamping device and a panel connected to the bracket.

What is claimed is:  
     
         1 . An apparatus for mounting on a shopping cart, comprising: 
 a clamping device;    a bracket connected to the clamping device; and    a panel connected to the bracket.    
     
     
         2 . The apparatus according to  claim 1 , further including a clip connected to the panel.  
     
     
         3 . The apparatus according to  claim 2 , wherein the clip has a hinge.  
     
     
         4 . The apparatus according to  claim 2 , further including a lever rotatably connected to the hinge.  
     
     
         5 . The apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the panel has a planar upper surface.  
     
     
         6 . The apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the clamping device has a living hinge.  
     
     
         7 . The apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the clamping device has a user-adjusting means of attachment.  
     
     
         8 . The apparatus according to  claim 7 , wherein the user-adjusting means of attachment includes a layer of padding.  
     
     
         9 . The apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the clamping device has a friction increasing means of attachment.  
     
     
         10 . The apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the panel includes at least one device selected from the group of devices consisting of a calculator, a computing device, a monitor and a coupon printer.  
     
     
         11 . The apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein a longer axis of the panel is parallel to the horizontal.  
     
     
         12 . The apparatus according to  claim 11 , further including a first spring-hinged clip fastened on one side of the panel and a second spring-hinged clip fastened on another side of the panel.
