Candy and gum containers

Abstract

A plurality of candy and gum containers with a variety of shapes and features. The shapes of the different embodiments include a guitar, a racecar, a surfboard, a book, a star, a rectangle, a lighter and an ice cream cone. All embodiments are made of metal and the upper portion of each embodiment can be hinged together to the lower portion of that embodiment or the upper portion of each embodiment can be separated from the lower portion of that embodiment. Certain embodiments of the candy and gum containers provide a quick release mechanism for providing easy access to the contents of the containers.

We claim:  
     
         1 . A quick release candy and gum container, comprised of: 
 a top portion and a bottom portion, the top portion having a top surface and sidewalls on the perimeter of the top surface, and the bottom portion having a bottom surface and sidewalls on the perimeter of the bottom surface, said top portion aligning together with and closing over said bottom portion, forming said container for holding candy and gum and the like;    the top portion being slightly larger and in the same shape as the bottom portion, allowing the top portion sidewalls to close on the bottom portion as desired; and    a quick-release mechanism for releasing said top portion from a closed position on said bottom portion.    
     
     
         2 . The quick release candy and gum container according to  claim 1 , wherein said quick release mechanism is located on said top surface of said top portion.  
     
     
         3 . The quick release candy and gum container according to  claim 1 , wherein said quick release mechanism comprises a press-to-open button.  
     
     
         4 . The quick release candy and gum container according to  claim 1 , wherein said container is in the shape of a surfboard.  
     
     
         5 . A candy and gum container, comprised of: 
 top portion and a bottom portion, the top portion having a top surface and sidewalls on the perimeter of the top surface, and the bottom portion having a bottom surface and sidewalls on the perimeter of the bottom surface, said top portion aligning together with and closing over said bottom portion, forming said container for holding candy and gum and the like; and    the top portion being slightly larger and in the same shape as the bottom portion, allowing the top portion sidewalls to close on the bottom portion as desired.    
     
     
         6 . The candy and gum container according to  claim 5 , further comprising a quick-release mechanism for releasing said top portion from a closed position on said bottom portion.  
     
     
         7 . The candy and gum container according to  claim 6 , wherein said quick release mechanism is located on said top surface of said top portion.  
     
     
         8 . The candy and gum container according to  claim 6  wherein said quick release mechanism comprises a press-to-open button.  
     
     
         9 . The candy and gum container according to  claim 8 , wherein said container is in the shape of a surfboard.  
     
     
         10 . A candy and gum container, comprised of: 
 a top portion and a bottom portion, the top portion having a top surface and sidewalls on the perimeter of the top surface and the bottom portion having a bottom surface and sidewalls on the perimeter of the bottom surface, said top portion aligning together with and closing over said bottom portion, forming said container for holding candy and gum and the like;    the top portion being slightly larger and in the same shape as the bottom portion, allowing the top portion to close on the bottom portion as desired; and    the top portion is hinged to the bottom portion, allowing the container to open and close as desired.    
     
     
         11 . The candy and gum container according to  claim 10 , further comprising a quick-release mechanism for releasing said top portion from a closed position on said bottom portion.  
     
     
         12 . The candy and gum container according to  claim 11 , wherein said quick release mechanism is located on said top surface of said top portion.  
     
     
         13 . The candy and gum container according to  claim 12 , wherein said quick release mechanism comprises a press-to-open button.  
     
     
         14 . The container according to  claim 13 , wherein the container is in the shape of a surfboard.
