Abstract

The present invention relates to a device for separating liquid and solid material from a mixture, comprising: a filter cloth for allowing through the liquid and holding back the solid material; a carrier belt for supporting the filter cloth with the mixture thereon, wherein the carrier belt is optionally provided with one or more openings close to at least one of the side edges or at least eccentrically thereof; a support construction for supporting the carrier belt movable relative thereto; and a suction box arranged under the support construction and/or on the side of the carrier belt and connected to the optional openings in the carrier belt for extracting liquid from the mixture.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . Device for separating liquid and solid material from a mixture, comprising:
a filter cloth for allowing through the liquid and holding back the solid material; a carrier belt for supporting the filter cloth with the mixture thereon, wherein the carrier belt is optionally provided with one or more openings close to at least one of the side edges or at least eccentrically thereof; a support construction for supporting the carrier belt movable relative thereto; and a suction box arranged under the support construction and/or on the side of the carrier belt and connected to the optional openings in the carrier belt for extracting liquid from the mixture.

2 . Device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the carrier belt has a ribbed profile, between the ribs of which channels extend to the side edges thereof.

3 . Device as claimed in claim 1 or 2 , wherein the carrier belt is of plastic and provided with a heel part.

4 . Device as claimed in claim 1 or 2 , wherein the carrier belt is of rubber and provided with a heel part.

5 . Device as claimed in any of the foregoing claims, wherein a suction box is arranged under and/or adjacently of the openings on only one side.

6 . Device as claimed in any of the claims 1 - 4 , wherein the carrier belt has a width of more than 1.5-2 metres, and suction boxes are placed on both sides of the carrier belt.

7 . Device as claimed in any of the foregoing claims, wherein the suction boxes are provided with a connection for discharging volatile constituents from the mixture.

8 . Device as claimed in any of the claims 1 - 7 , wherein the carrier belt has a thickness of about 25-30 cm.

9 . Device as claimed in any of the foregoing claims, wherein the openings are situated in the region between the outer edge and a quarter of the width of the carrier belt.

10 . Device as claimed in any of the claims 7 , 8 or 9 , wherein the or each suction box is provided with a closable hatch for inspection and/or maintenance purposes.

11 . Device as claimed in any of the foregoing claims, wherein one or more openings are arranged in the heel part.

12 . Device as claimed in claim 11 , wherein on one or both sides of the carrier belt is arranged a suction box with openings therein which connect onto the openings in the heel part for suction therethrough of liquid out of the mixture.

13 . Device as claimed in claim 12 , wherein a shoulder is arranged on the suction boxes for supporting the filter cloth and along which this cloth is displaceable.

14 . Device as claimed in claim 13 , wherein the shoulder is of teflon.

15 . Device as claimed in claim 14 , wherein the shoulder is situated between the filter cloth and the side of the suction box.

16 . Device as claimed in any of the foregoing claims, wherein a support is situated on the suction box for supporting the carrier belt.

17 . Method for separating liquids and solid material, wherein a device as claimed in any of the claims 1 - 16 is applied.
