Inexpensive snowplow
Abstract
The present invention is a lightweight, one-person-operating plow designed to remove new-fallen or otherwise soft snow or slush. It is inexpensive to manufacture, ship, market, and purchase. Its two units can be assembled and connected to any kind of vehicle in less than one minute. Disconnection and disassembly can be effected in like time. It can remove virtually all of the snow from the path being cleared very quickly; for example, a 100-foot driveway can be cleared in about fifteen seconds, and a 50-foot driveway in half that time. Very little physical effort by the user is required, and no damage is caused to the surface being plowed.

1 . A device for removing snow or slush, comprising:
a. A snowplow that can be towed by any kind of motorized vehicle. b. A snowplow that can be towed with stability in relation to the towing vehicle. c. A lightweight (one-person handling) snowplow, made of light-weight material such as plastic (PVC, vinyl, acrylic, etc.), fiberglass, composite material (such as carbon fiber reinforced plastic, which is one of thousands of available kinds of composites), aluminum or other light metal, etc.
2 . The device in claim 1 that can be provided with strips of material (such as metal or tough, but pliable, rubber or plastic) attached to the lower, or contact, edge of the plow blades.
3 . The device in claim 1 that is much less expensive to manufacture than effective plows in the prior art.
4 . The device in claim 1 that is much less expensive to market to the public than effective plows in the prior art.
5 . The device in claim 1 that is more compact for packaging, shipping, transporting, and/or storing than effective plows in the prior art.
6 . The device in claim 1 that is provided with several handhold means of grasping to ease carrying and manipulation.
7 . The device in claim 1 whose two units can be assembled for use in less than thirty seconds.
8 . The device in claim 1 whose two units can be disassembled for storage or transporting in less than thirty seconds.
9 . The device in claim 1 that can be connected by two or more struts to a towing vehicle in less than thirty seconds.
10 . The device in claim 1 that can be disconnected from a towing vehicle in less than thirty seconds.
11 . The device in claim 1 that does not require cumbersome and unsightly brackets and/or hardware on the towing vehicle.
12 . The device in claim 1 that is simple and efficient to operate.
13 . The device in claim 1 that is stabilized laterally in relation to the towing vehicle by means of rigid struts.
14 . The device in claim 1 that is adjustable for various widths of plowing by a fixed-length cross-bar attached at one of several connecting points along the length of one of the two blades of the plow or, optionally, by use of a telescoping cross-bar.
15 . The device in claim 1 that is adjustable for plowing to either the right side or the left side of the path being cleared by use of telescoping struts, or by use of fixed-length struts attached at varying places along the length of one of the two blades of the plow.
16 . The device in claim 1 that requires very little propulsive power.
17 . The device in claim 1 that, by virtue of its light weight, its faces angled in relation to its forward motion, its front point curved or angled in relation to the ground, and a small amount of “play” in the connections, can bounce over small objects without damage to them or to the plow.
18 . The device in claim 1 that is durable.
