Abstract

Toilet block for a composting toilet which includes a toilet bowl and, situated below this, a holder for receiving night-soil delivered via the toilet bowl and for removing completely or partially broken down night-soil. The toilet block is prefabricated and designed in two parts in the form of an upper part, which is intended to accommodate at least one toilet bowl, and a lower part which is intended to accommodate a holder for receiving and composting night-soil delivered via a toilet bowl in the upper part. The upper part and the lower part are dimensioned such that the two parts can be situated one inside the other in a position for transport and storage. When the toilet block is being installed, the upper part can be lifted and secured relative to the lower part in a raised position in which the ceiling of the lower part becomes the floor of the upper part.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A toilet block for at least one composting toilet of the type which comprises a toilet bowl ( 16 ) and, situated below this, a holder ( 10 ) for receiving night-soil ( 23 ) delivered via the toilet bowl and for removing completely or partially broken down night-soil, characterized in that the toilet block is prefabricated and designed in two parts in the form of an upper part ( 1 ), which is intended to accommodate at least one toilet bowl ( 16 ) and possibly wash-basins and showers, and which is provided with a roof ( 3 ), external walls ( 4 ) and at least one access door ( 5 ), and a lower part ( 2 ) which is intended to accommodate a holder ( 10 ) for receiving and composting night-soil ( 23 ) delivered via a toilet bowl ( 16 ) in the upper part ( 1 ), and possibly a water heater and a water pump, and which is designed with external walls ( 8 ) with at least one port opening ( 9 ) for removing and introducing the composting holder ( 10 ) in the lower part ( 2 ), and a flat ceiling ( 6 ), in that the upper part ( 1 ) has no floor and has dimensions which are such that it can be lowered over the lower part ( 2 ) in a position for transport and storage, and in that, when the toilet block is being installed at the intended place of use, the upper part can be lifted up and secured relative to the lower part in a raised position in which the ceiling ( 6 ) of the lower part becomes the floor of the upper part.

2 . A toilet block for at least one composting toilet of the type which comprises a toilet bowl ( 16 ) and, situated below this, a holder ( 10 ) for receiving night-soil ( 23 ) delivered via the toilet bowl and for removing completely or partially broken down night-soil, characterized in that the toilet block is prefabricated and designed in two parts in the form of an upper part ( 1 ), which is intended to accommodate at least one toilet bowl ( 16 ) and possibly wash-basins and showers, and which is provided with a roof ( 3 ), floor, external walls ( 4 ) and at least one access door ( 5 ), and a lower part ( 2 ) for receiving and composting night-soil ( 23 ) delivered via a toilet bowl ( 16 ) in the upper part ( 1 ), and possibly a water heater and a water pump, and which is designed with external walls ( 8 ) with at least one port opening ( 9 ) for removing and introducing the composting holder ( 10 ) in the lower part ( 2 ), in that the lower part ( 2 ) has no ceiling and has dimensions which are such that the upper part ( 1 ) can be lowered into the lower part ( 2 ) in a position for transport and storage, and in that, when the toilet block is being installed at the intended place of use, the upper part can be lifted up and secured relative to the lower part in a raised position in which the floor of the upper part becomes the ceiling for the lower part.

3 . The toilet block as claimed in claim 1 or 2 , characterized in that the two toilet block parts ( 1 , 2 ) in the position for transport and storage form an inner storage area in which the necessary components for a functioning toilet can be stored during transport and storage, for example toilet bowls ( 16 ), composting holder ( 10 ), etc.

4 . The toilet block as claimed in any of claims 1 through 3 , characterized in that at least that toilet block part ( 1 , 2 ) which is located on the outside in the position for transport and storage is made of profiled steel plate and has the form of a freight container of standard dimensions.

5 . The toilet block as claimed in any of claims 1 through 4 , characterized in that, in the recessed position for transport and storage, the two toilet block parts ( 1 , 2 ) are locked together and are provided with lifting means which allow the two toilet block parts to be lifted as a single unit.

6 . The toilet block as claimed in any of claims 1 through 5 , characterized in that the two toilet block parts ( 1 , 2 ) are designed with holes ( 12 , 14 ) which, when the upper part ( 1 ) is in the raised position, are intended to receive locking means ( 21 ) which prevent the upper part from moving downward relative to the lower part ( 2 ).

7 . The toilet block as claimed in any of claims 1 through 6 , characterized in that the lower part ( 2 ) comprises a number of lifting means, preferably screw jacks which, when actuated, are designed to lift the upper part ( 1 ) in relation to the lower part ( 2 ).
