Item display system
Abstract
A system for facilitating the display of items. In one embodiment, the display system includes one or more shelving modules with longitudinal braces into which items for display may be securely inserted. Advantageously, the shelving modules and items for display secured thereto may be transposed or substituted with another shelving module containing other display items, without disrupting the positional arrangement of the items displayed. Another embodiment of the display system includes a freestanding support structure designed to accommodate the display of one or more shelving modules. An additional embodiment may include a transportable carrying case for the shelving modules, such as with the display items secured thereto, which provides means for their storage or transport to another display presentation.

1 . A display system to facilitate the display of items comprising:
a support structure including a left sidewall and a right sidewall, said left sidewall and said right sidewall each having a top edge and a rear edge, said left sidewall and said right sidewall being oriented in a spaced-apart configuration and joined at said rear edge by a back panel; a first modular shelving component including one or more pairs of parallel holding braces to hold the items to be displayed, said first modular shelving component being removably positioned in said support structure oriented along a generally horizontal plane; and one or more additional modular shelving component in addition to said first modular shelving component, said one or more additional modular shelving component including one or more pairs of parallel holding braces, said one or more additional modular shelving component being positioned in said support structure and below said first modular shelving component.
2 . The display system of claim 1 wherein said left sidewall and said right sidewall are constructed of an inner wall and an outer wall.
3 . The display system of claim 1 where said first modular shelving component is positioned adjacent said top edge.
4 . The display system of claim 1 wherein each of said pairs of parallel holding braces include a first channel formed on a first side of said holding brace and a second channel formed on a second side of said holding brace, said first side being opposite said second side.
5 . The display system of claim 1 wherein said first channel and said second channel is sized and shaped to receive a collector card.
6 . The display system of claim 1 wherein each pair of said one or more pairs of parallel holding braces are spaced apart a space to receive a collector card.
7 . The display system of claim 1 wherein a front edge of each of said one or more additional modular shelving component is angled downwardly from a horizontal plane.
8 . The display system of claim 1 wherein a front edge of a first of said one or more additional modular shelving component is angled about 2 degrees downwardly from a horizontal plane, and wherein said first additional modular shelving component is positioned below said first modular shelving component.
9 . The display system of claim 1 wherein a front edge of a second of said one or more additional modular shelving component is angled about 4 degrees downwardly from a horizontal plane, and wherein said second additional modular shelving component is positioned below said first additional modular shelving component.
10 . The display system of claim 1 wherein a front edge of a third of said one or more additional modular shelving component is angled about 7 degrees downwardly from a horizontal plane, and wherein said third modular additional modular shelving component is positioned below said second additional modular shelving component.
11 . The display system of claim 1 wherein a front edge of a fourth of said one or more additional modular shelving component is angled about 11 degrees downwardly from a horizontal plane, and wherein said fourth additional modular shelving component is positioned below said third modular shelving component.
12 . A system for the storage, transport and display of items comprising:
a plurality of modular shelving units, each of said plurality of modular shelving units including a plurality of spaced brackets for holding the items; a carrying case including a plurality of pairs of insertion slots, each said plurality of pairs of insertion slots sized and shaped for receiving one of said plurality of modular shelving units; and a support structure including a left sidewall and a right sidewall, said left sidewall and said right sidewall each having a top edge, a rear edge and an inside surface, said left sidewall and said right sidewall being oriented in a parallel, spaced-apart configuration and joined at said rear edge by a back panel, and wherein said support structure has a plurality of support brackets arranged on said inside surface of said left sidewall and said inside surface of said right sidewall, each of said support brackets sized and shaped for removably holding one of said plurality of modular shelving units.
13 . The system of claim 12 wherein said plurality of support brackets are arranged in pairs opposite each other.
14 . The system of claim 12 wherein said plurality of support brackets permit a variable vertical spacing when said plurality of modular shelving units are mounted thereon in said support structure.
15 . The system of claim 14 wherein said vertical spacing provides a lesser distance between a first pair of adjacent of said plurality of modular shelving units and a second pair of adjacent of said plurality of modular shelving units, wherein said second pair is positioned vertically underneath said first pair.
16 . The system of claim 12 wherein said support brackets are arranged so as to removably hold said plurality of modular shelving units in an angled configuration, said angled configuration being from about 0 degrees to 15 degrees from a horizontal plane with a front edge of each of said plurality of modular shelving units being lower with respect to a rear edge of each of said plurality of modular shelving units.
17 . The system of claim 16 wherein said angled configuration has a greater deviation from the horizontal plane from a lower one of said plurality of modular shelving units compared to a higher one of said plurality of modular shelving units, where said lower one of said plurality of modular shelving units is vertically below said higher one of said plurality of modular shelving units.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
