Abstract
An apparatus comprising a housing having a port adapted to receive a moveable first member and a moveable second member is configured to communicate with a tube.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An apparatus comprising:
a housing defining a port; a first moveable member to communicate with the port; a second moveable member coupled to the first moveable member, the second moveable member to move between a retracted position and an extended position; and a spring coupled to the housing and the second moveable member to bias the second moveable member to the retracted position.
2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the first moveable member is a needle.
3 . The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising:
a first trigger mechanism coupled to the housing to release the second moveable member from the extended position.
4 . The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein activation of the trigger mechanism causes a noise to be emitted.
5 . The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising:
a wing coupled to the housing including an adhesive on the bottom surface of the wing.
6 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the second moveable member to define a communication channel to allow fluid communication between the first moveable member and the port in a first position and to prohibit fluid communication in a second position.
7 . An apparatus comprising:
a housing defining a port to receive a needle; a moveable member coupled to the housing and biased to a retracted position, the moveable member including a needle; a retention mechanism to secure the moveable member in an extended position; and a release mechanism to release the moveable member from the retention mechanism to allow the moveable member to return to a retracted position.
8 . The apparatus of claim 7 , further comprising:
a trigger mechanism coupled to the housing to activate the release mechanism.
9 . The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the moveable member is biased to the retracted position by a spring coupled to the housing.
10 . The apparatus of claim 7 , further comprising:
a wing coupled to the housing, the wing having an adhesive on the lower surface to attach the housing to a surface.
11 . The apparatus of a claim 7 , wherein the needle is removably coupled to the moveable member.
12 . The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the port is configured to lock an intravenous line into place.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
