Multi-function rocking chair
Abstract
A multi-function rocking chair includes a main body, and a base. The main body includes a seat and a main support. The seat is separably fitted onto the main support so that the chair can be dismantled to occupy less space for storage. Two curved members are joined to a lower section of the main support. The base includes two parallel rails, each of which has a guide trench lengthwise formed on the upper side. Lowermost curved portions of the curved members are disposed in a respective one of the guide trenches so that the main body can be made to rock while it doesn't directly come into contact with the ground.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A multi-function rocking chair, comprising
a main body including a seat and a main support which is joined to the seat, and has a pair of curved members joined to a lower section thereof; a base including two parallel rails; the rails each having a lengthwise formed guide trench; the curved members being disposed in a respective one of the guide trenches so as to be made to rock on the base by external force.
2 . The multi-function rocking chair as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the main support of the main body includes two support members and four legs joined to a bottom side of corresponding ones of the support members at tipper ends, while the scat includes a back support, two parallel holding tubes, and a buttock support joined to the holding tubes as well as the back support; the holding tubes having threaded connecting rods; the support members having holed connecting ears; the holding tubes being removably supported on a respective one of the support members with the threaded connecting rods being passed through the holed connecting cars, and screwed into nuts; the curved members being joined to lower ends of the legs.
3 . The multi-function rocking chair as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the base further has a front connecting part, and a rear connecting part, each having two connecting rooms formed between lower stair-shaped portions and upper protrusions thereof, while the rails each has two inverted stair shaped end portions; the rails are separably connected to the front and the rear connecting parts with the inverted stair shaped end portions being inserted into the connecting rooms of the connecting parts, and with the guide trenches thereof holding the tipper protrusions of the connecting parts.
4 . The multi-function rocking chair as claimed in claim 1 , wherein each of the rails has recesses along lower portions of lateral walls of the guide trench thereof, and the base is further provided with two restricting blocks each having two engaging protrusions on lateral sides thereof; the restricting blocks being movably received in a respective one of the guide trenches of the rails with the engaging protrusions being held in the lateral recesses; fastening elements being screwed through the restricting blocks to come into contact with bottoms of the guide trenches so as to prevent the restricting blocks from moving relative to the rails, allowing the restricting blocks to restrict rocking movement of the curved members.
5 . The multi-function rocking chair as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the rear connecting part is formed with engaging trenches on an upper side thereof to be aligned with the guide trenches of the rails, while restricting blocks are unlockably fixed to the guide trenches by means of fixing elements so as to be capable of restricting the rocking movement of the curved members in an adjustable manner the restricting blocks having engaging trenches facing the engaging trenches of the rear connecting part so that the curved members can be immobile when the restricting blocks arc disposed so close to the rear connecting parts as to make the curved members engage the engaging trenches thereof as well as the engaging trenches of the rear connecting pairs, allowing the present chair to be used as a conventional chaise longue for a user to lie on.
6 . The multi-function rocking chair as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the rails and the connecting parts of the base are joined together in formation thereof
7 . The multi-function rocking chair as claimed in claim 2 , wherein a footrest is passed into the holding tubes of the seat at rear end portions for a sitter to put feet on, while a canopy support is removably connected to an tipper end of the back support for holding a winding canopy in position that is extendable from a rear side of the back support.
8 . The multi-function rocking chair as claimed in claim 2 , wherein both the buttock support and the back support are connected to a joint having two parts movable relative to each other so that orientation of the back support relative to the buttock support can be adjusted.
9 . The multi-function rocking chair as claimed in claim 2 , wherein two armrests are provided, and the legs of the main support are hollow so that the armrests can be secured to two corresponding ones of the legs with two insertion rods thereof being passed into the legs; fixing knobs being screwed into the legs to fasten the insertion rods in position.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
