Abstract

A container that may be compartmentalized with the use of easily removable and adjustable partitions, where some of the partitions may be containers in and of themselves. The container may be constructed from a rigid or compliant material. A plurality of slots located on opposite inner sides of a main compartment within the primary container are adapted to receive tabs that are attached to a partition in such a way that when installed the slots secure the tabs, thus securing the partition within the container.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A partition adapted for use in compartmentalizing a container, comprising:
a wall portion having a left edge, a right edge, a top edge and a bottom edge; a first tab operably interconnected to said left edge of said wall portion; and a second tab operably interconnected to said right edge of said wall portion, wherein said first tab and said second tab are adapted for insertion into a first slot and a second slot in a first and a second sidewall of the container.

2 . The partition of claim 1 , wherein said wall portion is constructed from a compliant material.

3 . The partition of claim 1 , wherein said wall portion is constructed of a rigid material.

4 . A partition for use in compartmentalizing a container having a plurality of slots integrated into the sidewalls thereof, comprising:
a wall portion having a left edge, a right edge, a top edge, a bottom edge, a front surface, and a rear surface; a left interface portion having a left surface and a right surface, wherein said right surface of said left interface portion is interconnected to said left edge of said wall portion, wherein said left interface portion and said wall portions are substantially perpendicular; a right interface portion having a left surface and a right surface, wherein said left surface of said right interface portion is interconnected to said right edge of said wall portion, and wherein said left interface portion and said right interface portion are substantially parallel; a left tab interconnected to said left interface portion; and a right tab interconnected to said right interface portion wherein said left tab and said right tab are adapted for insertion into slots integrated into the sidewalls of the container.

5 . The partition of claim 4 , wherein said wall portion is constructed from a compliant material.

6 . The partition of claim 4 , wherein said wall portion is constructed of a rigid material.

7 . A partition, for use in compartmentalizing a container, comprising:
a compartment having a top surface, a bottom surface, a front surface, a back surface, a left surface, and a right surface; a left tab interconnected to said left surface; and a right tab interconnected to said right surface, wherein said right and said left tabs are adapted to be selectively inserted into slots, integrated within the interior of the container.

8 . The partition of claim 7 , wherein said compartment is constructed from compliant material, and further includes at least a semi-removable top and a latch to selectively fasten said top shut when in a closed position.

9 . The partition of claim 7 , wherein said compartment is constructed of a rigid material, and further includes at least a semi-removable top and a latch to selectively fasten the top shut when in a closed position.

10 . The partition on claim 7 , wherein said compartment is further equipped with carrying means for transporting said compartment separately from the container.

11 . The partition of claim 7 , wherein said compartment is adapted to carry a camera lens or film.

12 . A storage system that employs a partitionable, storage container comprising:
a pair of side walls which are generally parallel to each other; a pair of end walls which are generally parallel to each other; a bottom surface having four edges wherein the bottom edges of said side walls and said end walls are interconnected thereto, thereby defining a generally prismatic volume; a plurality of slots interconnected to an inner surface of said side walls; and a partition having at least one tab that is adapted to selectively interconnect with said slots to form at least two distinct volumes within said generally rectangular storage volume.

13 . The storage container of claim 12 , wherein said slots are positioned adjacent to each other, along each of said pair of side walls.

14 . The storage system of claim 12 , wherein said storage container is constructed from a compliant material.

15 . The storage system of claim 12 , wherein said storage container is constructed from a rigid material.

16 . The storage system of claim 12 , wherein said storage container has an internal volume with a shape adapted to engage a geometric profile of at least one of a camera and a camera accessory.

17 . The storage system of claim 12 , wherein said slots extend substantially from a top edge of said sidewall substantially to said bottom surface.

18 . The storage system of claim 12 , wherein said tab is positioned to prevent a bottom edge of said partition from contacting said bottom surface of said container when selectively interconnected.

19 . The storage system of claim 12 , wherein said tab is constructed from a smooth material to facilitate selective interconnection.

20 . The storage system of claim 12 , further comprising a cover that is selectively interconnected to said container to prevent exposure of the contents therein.
