Claims
Abstract
A portable gift-wrap cutting and holding system that uses a lockable rotating holder with a plurality of removable rods on which rolls of gift-wrap are held. A magnetic hold down bar is provided to hold the paper after it is unrolled and ready to be cut. A filament, such as a nylon string, is provided to safely cut the paper; or a groove is provided if the user prefers a scissors or blade.

1 ) A portable system for gift-wrapping from at least two rolls of rolled paper and for unrolling the rolled paper and holding the unrolled paper comprising, in combination:
a) at least two removable first holders each structured and arranged to removably hold at least one such roll of the rolled paper; b) at least one rotator structured and arranged to rotate said at least two removable first holders about a longitudinal axis; c) at least one lock structured and arranged to lock said at least one rotator; and d) at least one magnetic second holder structured and arranged to magnetically assist holding a length of the unrolled paper for cutting.
2 ) The portable system according to claim 1 further comprising at least one measuring device structured and arranged to measure said length of the unrolled paper.
3 ) The portable system according to claim 2 wherein said at least one measuring device comprises a foldable ruler.
4 ) The portable system according to claim 1 further comprising at least one cutter structured and arranged to cut said length of the unrolled paper.
5 ) The portable system according to claim 2 further comprising at least one cutter structured and arranged to cut said length of the unrolled paper.
6 ) The portable system according to claim 5 wherein said at least one cutter comprises at least one filament.
7 ) The portable system according to claim 6 wherein said at least one filament is substantially comprised of a material selected from the group consisting essentially of:
a) nylon;
b) carbon fiber; and
c) metal.
8 ) The portable system according to claim 1 wherein each said removable first holder comprises:
a) at least one rod;
b) wherein said at least one rod comprises at least one retractable end.
9 ) The portable system according to claim 8 wherein said at least one rod comprises at least one substantially hollow rod.
10 ) The portable system according to claim 9 wherein said at least one substantially hollow rod comprises plastic.
11 ) The portable system according to claim 9 wherein said at least one substantially hollow rod comprises PVC plastic pipe having a diameter no greater than about one inch.
12 ) The portable system according to claim 1 wherein said at least one rotator further comprises:
a) at least two ends situated substantially on the longitudinal axis of said rotator; and
b) at least one rotatable handle structured and arranged to rotate said at least one rotator;
c) wherein at least one of said at least two ends comprises a lock structured and arranged to hold said at least one rotator in a locked position.
13 ) The portable system according to claim 9 wherein said at least one substantially hollow rod comprises at least six said substantially hollow rods.
14 ) The portable system according to claim 1 wherein said at least one magnetic second holder comprises:
a) a first longitudinal bar comprising at least one magnet; and
b) a second longitudinal bar comprising at least one magnetic attractor;
c) wherein said first longitudinal bar and said second longitudinal bar are longitudinally aligned and structured and arranged such that said at least one magnet is aligned with said at least one magnetic attractor to provide a clamp for holding the paper when said first longitudinal bar and said second longitudinal bar are magnetically coupled.
15 ) The portable system according to claim 14 wherein said portable system is structured and arranged to be shipped in a knock-down state.
16 ) A portable system for gift-wrapping from at least two rolls of rolled paper and for unrolling the rolled paper and holding the unrolled paper comprising, in combination:
a) at least two removable first holders each structured and arranged to removably hold at least one such roll of the rolled paper; b) at least one rotator structured and arranged to rotate said at least two removable first holders about a longitudinal axis; c) at least one lock structured and arranged to lock said at least one rotator in a locked position; and d) at least one magnetic second holder structured and arranged to magnetically assist holding a length of the unrolled paper for cutting; e) at least one measuring device structured and arranged to measure said length of the unrolled paper; and f) at least one cutter structured and arranged to cut said length of the unrolled paper; g) wherein said at least one filament is substantially comprised of a material selected from the group consisting essentially of
i) nylon,
ii) carbon fiber, and
iii) wire;
h) wherein said at least two removable first holders each comprise at least one rod comprising at least one retractable end; i) wherein said at least one rotator further comprises
i) at least two ends situated substantially on the longitudinal axis of said rotator, and
ii) at least one rotatable handle, structured and arranged to turn said at least one rotator,
iii) wherein said at least one rotator comprises a lock, structured and arranged to selectively hold said at least one rotator in a locked position; and
j) wherein said at least one magnetic second holder comprises
i) a first longitudinal bar comprising at least one magnet, and
ii) a second longitudinal bar comprising at least one magnetic attractor,
iii) wherein said first longitudinal bar and said second longitudinal bar are longitudinally aligned and placed such that said at least one magnet is aligned with said at least one magnetic attractor, providing a clamp for holding the paper when said first longitudinal bar and said second longitudinal bar are magnetically coupled; and
k) wherein a such roll of paper may be placed on a said first holder, rotated to a such locked position adjacent said cutter, unrolled over said cutter and between said first longitudinal bar and said second longitudinal bar, clamped by said at least one magnetic second holder and cut by said cutter.
17 ) The portable system according to claim 16 wherein said portable system is structured and arranged to be shipped in a knock-down state.
18 ) A portable system for gift-wrapping from at least two rolls of rolled paper and for unrolling the rolled paper and holding the unrolled paper comprising, in combination:
a) a base comprising at least one non-slip bottom portion; b) six substantially hollow rods about thirty two inches in length, each said respective substantially hollow rod having,
i) at least one retractable end, and
ii) an outside diameter of about one-half inch
c) one rotator, attached to said base, comprising,
i) said six substantially hollow rods,
ii) two ends situated substantially on a longitudinal axis of said one rotator,
iii) a central axle connecting said two ends,
iv) at least one rotatable handle, attached to said central axle, to turn said one rotator,
v) six slots on one of said two ends, each said slot corresponding to a selected position of said one rotator, and
vi) a releasable lock, having a tab, which fits each respective said six slots, to selectively hold said one rotator in a locked position when said tab is engaged in a respective said six slots;
d) a magnetic holder, to magnetically assist holding a length of the unrolled paper for cutting, comprising:
i) a first longitudinal bar about thirty two inches in length adjustably attached to said base having
(1) five round magnets about one inch in diameter each,
(2) wherein each said five round magnets are located on said first longitudinal bar as follows, one first magnet about two inches from each respective end of said longitudinal bar, a second magnet about eight inches from each respective said first magnet; and a third magnet about centered between each said second magnet; and
ii) a second longitudinal bar, attached to said base, about thirty-two inches in length, comprising at least one magnetic attractor,
iii) wherein said first longitudinal bar and said second longitudinal bar are longitudinally aligned and placed such that said five round magnets are aligned with said at least one magnetic attractor, providing a clamp for holding the paper when said first longitudinal bar and said second longitudinal bar are magnetically coupled;
e) at least one foldable ruler attached to said base to measure said length of the unrolled paper; and f) at least one nylon filament cutter adjacent said second longitudinal bar to cut said length of the unrolled paper; g) at least one longitudinal v-groove in said base, adjacent said magnetic holder; h) wherein a roll of paper may be placed on each said six substantially hollow rods, each said roll of paper may be rotated to a position adjacent said cutter, placed in said locked position, unrolled over said cutter and between said first longitudinal bar and said second longitudinal bar, clamped by said magnetic holder and cut by said at least one nylon filament cutter.
19 ) The portable system according to claim 18 wherein said portable system is structured and arranged to be shipped in a knock-down state.
20 ) A portable system for holding at least one roll of rolled paper and for unrolling a length of the rolled paper and holding the unrolled paper comprising, in combination:
