Abstract

A weight training device having a weight disk with a front face, a back face and a peripheral edge. Five fingers can be inserted into at least two finger cavities permitting a user to grip said weight disk in a comfortable manner for lifting purposes. The weight disk preferably has five finger cavities that extend through the thickness of the weight disk. In order to perform exercises the user grips the weight disk with his/her hand and lifts the disk into different arm positions. The disk adds weight to each of the movements strengthening the arm, hand and shoulder.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A weight training device ( 1 ) comprising:
a weight disk ( 2 ) having a front face, a back face, a peripheral edge, and at least two finger cavities ( 3 ), wherein five fingers can be inserted into said at least two finger cavities permitting a user to grip said weight disk in a comfortable manner for lifting purposes; wherein said user exercises by gripping and moving said weight disk.

2 . The weight training device according to claim 1 , wherein said weight disk ( 2 ) has five finger cavities ( 3 ) disposed on said front face of said weight disk ( 2 ), wherein said five finger cavities ( 3 ) extend through the thickness of said weight disk ( 2 ).

         3 . The weight training device according to claim 1 , further comprising a nut ( 4 ) and a bolt ( 5 ), wherein said bolt ( 5 ) has a head ( 6 ), and wherein said weight disk ( 2 ) has a central aperture ( 7 ) through which said bolt ( 5 ) extends.

4 . The weight training device according to claim 3 , further comprising additional weight disks ( 8 ) having central apertures ( 9 ), wherein said additional weight disks slide onto said bolt ( 5 ) extending from said back face of said weight disk ( 2 ), and wherein said additional weight disks ( 8 ) are securely coupled to said back face of said weight disk ( 2 ) by said nut ( 4 ).

5 . The weight training device according to claim 4 , wherein said head ( 6 ) of said bolt ( 5 ) is shaped as a tapered cube, and wherein said central aperture ( 7 ) of said weight disk ( 2 ) has a shape substantially identical to said head ( 6 ) so that said head ( 6 ) fits into said central aperture ( 7 ) and is prevented from rotational movement.

6 . The weight training device according to claim 1 , wherein said weight disk ( 2 ) has two finger cavities ( 3 ) disposed on said front face of said weight disk ( 2 ), and wherein a first finger cavity is positioned for the thumb of said user while a second finger cavity is shaped and positioned to accommodate the remaining four fingers of said user.

7 . The weight training device according to claim 1 , wherein said weight disk ( 2 ) has five finger cavities ( 3 ), wherein a first finger cavity is disposed on said front face of said weight disk ( 2 ) and positioned for the thumb of said user, and wherein the remaining finger cavities are disposed on said peripheral edge of said weight disk ( 2 ).
