Product display receptacle

Abstract

A product display receptacle comprises invention a one-piece cardboard or similar paperboard blank. The blank is readily and easily foldable into the finished display receptacle, which will be maintained in a self-standing position. The receptacle forms an enclosure which comprises a bottom panel, dual side panels each with an opening therethrough, and two back panels with openings which are contiguous with the side panel openings. The top of the receptacle is open, as is the front, except for lower and upper front panels which provide stability and reinforcement and an area for printed product description or advertisement. A sectioned, foldable, columnar reinforcement is provided between the back panels. Multiple receptacles are used in combination with a pegboard display system and display rack containers for the attractive and accessible display of product merchandise.

We claim:  
     
         1 . A product display receptacle for use with a display rack container, said receptacle comprising a one piece blank comprising: 
 1) a bottom panel;    2) dual side panels extending from the bottom panel, each side panel having a top section and a bottom section and an opening therethrough between the top and bottom sections for receiving and retaining at least a part of the display rack container within the receptacle; and    3) a lower back panel, an upper back panel, and an opening between the lower and upper back panels for receiving and retaining at least a part of a display rack container within the receptacle.    
     
     
         2 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 1  wherein the side panel openings and the back panel opening are contiguous with each other.  
     
     
         3 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 1  further comprising reinforcing means located between the lower and upper back panels for providing stability and support to the receptacle.  
     
     
         4 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 3  wherein the reinforcing means comprises foldable sections and are formed as a part of the blank.  
     
     
         5 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 1  further comprising handle openings located in the side panels.  
     
     
         6 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 1  wherein the top of the receptacle is open.  
     
     
         7 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 1  wherein the front of the receptacle is substantially open.  
     
     
         8 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 1  wherein the front of the receptacle comprises a lower front panel.  
     
     
         9 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 1  wherein the front of the receptacle comprises a reinforcing panel.  
     
     
         10 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 1  further comprising attachment means to secure the side panels to the back panels.  
     
     
         11 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 1  wherein the blank is formed of cardboard or cardboard like material.  
     
     
         12 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 1  wherein the display rack container comprises a bin for receiving and retaining products.  
     
     
         13 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 1  wherein the bottom panel, the side panels, and the back panels form an enclosure for receiving and retaining products.  
     
     
         14 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 1  wherein the openings in the receptacle receive and retain at least a part of two display rack containers.  
     
     
         15 . A product display receptacle for use with a display rack container, said receptacle comprising: 
 1) a bottom panel;    2) dual side panels extending from the bottom panel, at least one side panel having an opening therethrough for receiving and retaining at least a part of the display rack container within the receptacle; and    3) back panels having an opening therebetween for receiving and retaining at least a part of the display rack container within the receptacle.    
     
     
         16 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 15  wherein the side panel opening and the back panel opening are contiguous with each other.  
     
     
         17 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 15  wherein the back panels comprise a lower panel and an upper panel, the back panel opening being located therebetween, and reinforcing means located between the lower and upper panels for providing stability and support to the receptacle.  
     
     
         18 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 16  wherein the reinforcing means comprises foldable sections.  
     
     
         19 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 15  further comprising handle openings located in the side panels.  
     
     
         20 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 15  wherein the top of the receptacle is open.  
     
     
         21 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 15  wherein the front of the receptacle is substantially open.  
     
     
         22 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 15  wherein the front of the receptacle comprises a lower front panel.  
     
     
         23 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 15  wherein the front of the receptacle comprises a reinforcing panel.  
     
     
         24 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 15  further comprising attachment means to secure the side panels to the back panels.  
     
     
         25 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 15  wherein the receptacle is a one piece blank.  
     
     
         26 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 15  wherein the dual side panels each comprise a top section and a bottom section.  
     
     
         27 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 25  wherein the back panels comprise a lower panel and an upper panel, the back panel opening being located therebetween, and reinforcing means between the lower and upper panel for providing stability and support to the receptacle.  
     
     
         28 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 27  wherein the reinforcing means comprises foldable sections and are formed as part of the blank.  
     
     
         29 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 25  wherein the blank is constructed of cardboard or cardboard-like material.  
     
     
         30 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 15  wherein the display rack container comprises a bin for receiving and retaining products.  
     
     
         31 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 15  wherein the bottom panel, the side panels, and the back panels form an enclosure for receiving and retaining products.  
     
     
         32 . The product as in  claim 15  wherein the openings in the receptacle receive and retain at least a part of two display rack containers.  
     
     
         33 . A product display receptacle comprising: 
 1) a bottom panel;    2) dual side panels extending from the bottom panel, at least one side panel having an opening therethrough;    3) back panels having an opening therebetween; and    4) reinforcing means located between the back panels for providing stability and support to the receptacle.    
     
     
         34 . The product display receptacles in  claim 33  wherein the side panel opening and the back panel opening are contiguous with each other.  
     
     
         35 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 33  wherein the receptacle is a one piece blank.  
     
     
         36 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 33  wherein the back panels comprise a lower panel and an upper panel, the back panel opening being located therebetween.

         45 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 33  wherein the back panels comprise a lower panel and an upper panel, the back opening being located therebetween.  
     
     
         46 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 33  wherein the reinforcing means comprises foldable sections and are formed as part of a one piece blank.  
     
     
         47 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 46  wherein the blank is constructed of cardboard or cardboard-like material.  
     
     
         48 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 33  wherein the bottom panel, the side panels, and the back panels form an enclosure for receiving and retaining products.  
     
     
         49 . The product display receptacle as in  claim 33  wherein at least a part of a display rack container is received and retained in the receptacle.  
     
     
         50 . A product display system comprising: 
 1) a pegboard display;    2) at least one display rack container;    3) at least one product display receptacle to receive and retain the display rack container, and receptacle comprising: 
 (a) a bottom panel;  
 (b) dual side panels extending from the bottom panel, at least one side panel having an opening therethrough for receiving and retaining at least a part of the display rack container within the receptacle; and  
 (c) back panels having an opening therebetween for receiving and retaining at least a part of the display rack retainer within the receptacle.  
   
     
     
         51 . The product display system as in  claim 50  wherein the side panel opening and the back panel opening of the receptacle are contiguous with each other and at least part of the display rack container is received and retained in the openings.  
     
     
         52 . The product display system as in  claim 50  wherein the top of the receptacle is open.  
     
     
         53 . The product display system as in  claim 50  wherein the front of the receptacle is substantially open.  
     
     
         54 . The product display system as in  claim 50  wherein the front of the receptacle comprises a lower front panel.  
     
     
         55 . The product display system as in  claim 50  wherein the front of the receptacle comprises a reinforcing panel.  
     
     
         56 . The product display system as in  claim 50  wherein the receptacle is a one piece blank.  
     
     
         57 . The product display system as in  claim 56  wherein the blank is constructed of cardboard or cardboard-like material.  
     
     
         58 . The product display system as in  claim 50  wherein the display rack container comprises a bin for receiving and retaining products.  
     
     
         59 . The product display system as in  claim 50  wherein the bottom panel, the side panels, and the back panels form an enclosure for receiving and retaining products.  
     
     
         60 . The product display system of  claim 50  in which the system comprises multiple product display receptacles.  
     
     
         61 . The product display system of  claim 60  in which the multiple receptacles are positioned adjacent to each other, in front of the pegboard display.  
     
     
         62 . The product display system of  claim 50  in which at least part of two separate display rack containers are received and retained in the product display receptacle.  
     
     
         63 . The product display system of  claim 61  in which at least part of two separate display rack containers are received and retained in the product display receptacles.  
     
     
         64 . The product display system as in  claim 63  in which each display rack container has its own bin for receiving and retaining products.
