Abstract
A textured elastomeric article and a method of making such an article is disclosed. The article includes a substrate body having an inside surface and a plurality of alkaline earth salt particles embedded within at least a portion of the inside surface but not extending through the thickness of the article such that no separate binder material is needed to affix the particles.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A textured elastomeric article comprising:
a substrate body having an inside surface; and a plurality of alkaline earth salt particles embedded within at least a portion of the inside surface but not extending through the thickness of the article such that no separate binder material is needed to affix the particles.
2 . The article of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of particles comprises magnesium carbonate.
3 . The article of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of particles comprises calcium carbonate.
4 . The article of claim 1 , comprising from about 0.36 mass % to about 0.91 mass % alkaline earth salt particles.
5 . The article of claim 1 , wherein the article is a condom.
6 . The article of claim 1 , wherein the article is a glove.
7 . An elastomeric article comprising:
a substrate body comprising natural rubber; and a donning layer overlying the substrate body, the donning layer comprising an elastomeric polymer and a plurality of alkaline earth salt particles embedded within at least a portion of the donning layer but not extending into the substrate body such that no separate binder material is needed to affix the particles.
8 . The article of claim 7 , wherein the polymer comprises 1,2-polybutadiene.
9 . The article of claim 7 , wherein the polymer comprises 1,2-syndiotactic polybutadiene.
10 . The article of claim 7 , comprising from about 1.1 mass % to about 1.9 mass % polymer.
11 . The article of claim 7 , wherein the plurality of particles comprises magnesium carbonate.
12 . The article of claim 7 , wherein the plurality of particles comprises calcium carbonate.
13 . The article of claim 7 , comprising from about 0.36 mass % to about 0.91 mass % alkaline earth salt particles.
14 . The article of claim 7 , wherein the donning layer further comprises natural rubber.
15 . The article of claim 14 , wherein the donning layer comprises from about 27 mass % to about 29 mass % natural rubber.
16 . An elastomeric article comprising:
a substrate body comprising natural rubber; a donning layer overlying at least one side of the substrate body, the donning layer comprising 1,2-syndiotactic polybutadiene and a plurality of alkaline earth salt particles embedded within at least a portion of the donning layer but not extending into the substrate body such that no separate binder material is needed to affix the particles; and a lubricant layer overlying at least a portion of the donning layer.
17 . The article of claim 16 , comprising from about 1.1 mass % to about 1.9 mass % 1,2-syndiotactic polybutadiene.
18 . The article of claim 16 , wherein the plurality of particles comprises magnesium carbonate.
19 . The article of claim 16 , wherein the plurality of particles comprises calcium carbonate.
20 . The article of claim 16 , comprising from about 0.36 mass % to about 0.91 mass % alkaline earth salt particles.
21 . The article of claim 16 , wherein the donning layer further comprises natural rubber.
22 . The article of claim 21 , wherein the donning layer comprises from about 27 mass % to about 29 mass % natural rubber.
23 . The article of claim 16 , wherein the lubricant layer comprises a silicone.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
