Abstract

A reporting system comprising a data capture device that captures identification data. Scan, record, and report (SRR) logic that transmits an information request to a remote database and receives an information response from the remote database. The SRR logic further creates business summary reports regarding the identification data and additional data contained in the information response.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
Now, therefore, the following is claimed:

         1 . A reporting system comprising:
a data capture device configured to capture identification data; a database server configured to receive an information request and to transmit an information response; and scan, record, and report (SRR) logic configured to store the identification data, transmit the information request to the database server, receive the information response from the database server, and create business summary reports.

2 . The reporting system as claimed in claim 1 wherein the data capture device is an optical character recognition (OCR) scanner.

3 . The reporting system as claimed in claim 2 wherein the SRR logic and the database server are communicatively connected via a network.

4 . The reporting system as claimed in claim 3 further comprising an SRR database configured to store identification data and the information response.

5 . The reporting system as claimed in claim 4 wherein the SRR logic is further configured to store the identification data and the information response in the SRR database.

6 . The reporting system as claimed in claim 5 wherein the OCR scanner scans a government-issued identification card, and the SRR logic is configured to store a consumer name, a consumer address, and a consumer social security number to the SRR database.

7 . The reporting system as claimed in claim 6 wherein the database server is configured to receive a name, an address and a social security number, the database server being further configured to retrieve credit information related to the name, address and social security number, and transmit credit information to the SRR logic.

8 . A method for reporting comprising the steps of:
capturing identification data; transmitting an information request; receiving at least one information response; and creating business summary reports based on the information response received.

9 . The method for reporting as claimed in claim 8 , the capturing step further comprising the steps of:
scanning an identification card with an optical character recognition (OCR) scanner; and saving the captured identification data to an SRR database.

10 . The method for reporting as claimed in claim 9 , the transmitting step further comprising the steps of:
retrieving the identification data from the SRR database; and formatting the identification data.

11 . The method for reporting as claimed in claim 10 , the receiving step further comprising the step of:
storing additional data contained in the information response to the SRR database.

12 . The method for reporting as claimed in claim 11 , the creating step further comprising the steps of:
compiling the identification data and the additional data; and creating at least one report showing historical performance.

         13 . A reporting system comprising:
a data capture device configured to capture identification data; an SRR database; and SRR logic configured to store the identification data to the SRR database, the SRR logic further configured to receive additional data from at least one remote database and store the additional information to the SRR database; and a reporting application configured to create reports that provide business performance evaluation, the reports compiling the identification data and the additional data to create the reports.

14 . The reporting system as claimed in claim 13 wherein the data capture device is a optical character recognition device configured to capture identification data from a government issued identification card.

15 . The reporting system as claimed in claim 14 wherein the government issued identification card is a driver's license.

16 . The reporting system as claimed in claim 15 wherein the identification data comprises a driver's license number.

17 . The reporting system as claimed in claim 16 wherein the additional data received from the remote database includes verification of the driver's license number received from the SRR logic.
