Fragrance sampler insert

Abstract

A fragrance sample is provided which is made from two plies (a bottom ply and a top ply) of material. A cosmetic (such as a wet fragrance) sample is deposited on the bottom ply. A well is formed in at least one of the plies and is sized and shaped to surround the sample. The two plies are then adhered together to form a liquid tight seal between the two plies and around the well.

1 . A sampler for inserting into an article such as a magazine or a mass mailing; the sampler including: 
 a bottom ply having an upper surface and a lower surface;    a well formed in said bottom play to receive a cosmetic sample;    a top ply having an upper surface and a lower surface;    a wall formed in at least the top ply; the top ply wall being adhered to the bottom ply to form a seal to substantially prevent leakage of the sample.    
     
     
         2 . The sampler of  claim 1  wherein the well is formed as a depression in the bottom ply; said top ply wall having dimensions at least as large as said well; such that said top ply wall is adhered to said upper surface of said bottom ply.  
     
     
         3 . The sampler of  claim 1  wherein the sampler bottom ply includes a wall extending upwardly from said bottom ply upper surface; said bottom ply wall defining said well, at least in part; said bottom ply wall and said top ply wall being positioned on their respective plies so as to be aligned when said top ply and bottom ply are adhered together.  
     
     
         4 . The sampler of  claim 3  wherein said top and bottom ply walls are collapsed.  
     
     
         5 . The sampler of  claim 3  wherein said top and bottom ply walls define first walls; said sampler including a second wall on said top ply and a second wall on said bottom ply; said second walls surrounding said first walls; said second walls being aligned with each other.  
     
     
         6 . The sampler of  claim 5  wherein said first and second walls of said top and bottom ply are collapsed after said walls are adhered together.  
     
     
         7 . The sampler of  claim 3  wherein said top and bottom ply walls are double walls.  
     
     
         8 . A sampler for inserting into an article such as a magazine or a mass mailing; the sampler including: 
 a bottom ply having an upper surface and a lower surface;    a well formed in said bottom play to receive a cosmetic sample; said well being below the plane of said bottom ply upper surface;    a top ply having an upper surface and a lower surface; and    a wall formed in at least the top ply; the top ply wall being adhered to the bottom ply to form a seal to substantially prevent leakage of the sample; said top ply wall having dimensions at least as large as said well; such that said top ply wall is adhered to said upper surface of said bottom ply.    
     
     
         9 . A sampler for inserting into an article such as a magazine or a mass mailing; the sampler including: 
 a bottom ply having an upper surface and a lower surface;    a wall extending upwardly from said bottom ply upper surface; said bottom ply wall defining a well, at least in part, to receive a cosmetic sample;    a top ply having an upper surface and a lower surface;    a wall extending downwardly from the top ply bottom surface;    said top and bottom ply walls being aligned with each other such that an end surface of said bottom ply wall engages an end surface of said upper ply wall; said end surfaces of said upper and lower ply walls being adhered together to form a seal between said top and bottom plies.    
     
     
         10 . The sampler of  claim 9  wherein said top and bottom ply walls are double walls.  
     
     
         11 . The sampler of  claim 9  wherein said top and bottom ply walls are collapsed.  
     
     
         12 . The sampler of  claim 9  wherein said top and bottom ply walls define first walls; said sampler including a second wall on said top ply and a second wall on said bottom ply; said second walls surrounding said first walls; said second walls being aligned with each other.  
     
     
         13 . The sampler of  claim 12  wherein said first and second walls of said top and bottom ply are collapsed after said walls are adhered together.
