Abstract

Segmented nanoparticles are manufactured according to different methods and in various apparatuses.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . An apparatus for manufacturing a nanoparticle, comprising:
a plating solution chamber; a defined-pore size template; means for applying a current to cause electrochemical deposition within pores of said template; means for agitating solution within said plating solution chamber; and means for controlling the temperature of said plating solution chamber.

2 . The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said template is selected from the group consisting of an Al 2 O 3 membrane, a photolithographically prepared template, a porous polycarbonate membrane, a zeolite and a block copolymer.

3 . An apparatus for simultaneously manufacturing a plurality of different types of nanoparticles, comprising:
a plating solution chamber; a plurality of template regions; means for selectively applying an electrical current to said template regions; and control means for controlling deposition into said template regions.

4 . The apparatus of claim 3 wherein said template regions are selected from the group consisting of an Al 2 O 3 membrane, a photolithographically prepared template, a porous polycarbonate membrane, a zeolite and a block copolymer.
