Portable book holder

Abstract

This new and improved reading apparatus will allow a person to read a book or magazine while their hands are free to perform task, such as, holding a child, talking on a cell phone, holding a strap on the train or bus, as well as, picking up luggage. The invention is made of a rigid plastic, wood, or metal sheet, approximately 9 inches wide and 12 inches long. A belt is attached to the bottom of the apparatus and then fastened around the reader's waist. The attachable belt is adjustable to fit people of any shape and size. A neck strap is attached to the top of the sheet and fastens around the users neck. The adjustable strap placed at a comfortable angle allows for ease of reading items, such as, a book, magazine, paper, newspaper, among other things.

Having thus described the invention, what I claim as a new idea and desire to secure by letters of patent of the United States is:  
     
         1 . A support apparatus for the purpose of holding books and other reading materials in a stable position. This invention will allow a person to remain hands free, with the opportunity to perform other task. 
 A flat rectangular rigid plastic, wood or metal sheet, approximately 9 inches wide and 12 inches long.    A flexible support neck strap attached to the top of the sheet.    An adjustable belt attached to the bottom of the sheet.    
     
     
         2 . A portable book holder apparatus for the purpose of holding books or other reading materials according to claim “ 1 ” wherein the rigid sheet is made of plastic.  
     
     
         3 . A portable book holder apparatus according to claim “ 2 ” wherein the rigid sheet is made of a light wood or plastic.  
     
     
         4 . A portable book holder apparatus according to claim “ 3 ” wherein the rigid sheet is made of metal.  
     
     
         5 . A portable book holder apparatus according to claim “ 1 ” wherein a belt is adjusted to fit people of all shapes and sizes.  
     
     
         6 . A portable book holder apparatus according to claim “ 1 ” wherein a neck strap is adjusted thus allowing the sheet to be placed at the correct angle.
