Wedding gown cleaning and preservation system

Abstract

At the point of purchase of the wedding gown, the customer is provided with a kit which includes a shipping box, either in folded or assembled form, order documents, prepaid shipping labels, a plastic bag, sealing tape with a moisture activated adhesive layer and instructions. When cleaning and preservation is desired, the order documents are filled out and put into the bag with the gown. The bag is placed in the box. The flaps of the assembled box are sealed by moistening the adhesive layer and applying the tape. The shipping labels are applied to the outside of the box and the box is shipped to the cleaning and preservation establishment.

1 . A wedding gown cleaning and preservation method comprising the steps of: 
 providing a kit to the customer at the point of purchase of the gown, the kit containing shipping box, order and shipping documents, a bag, sealing tape with a moisture activated adhesive layer and instructions;    filling out the order and shipping documents;    placing the order documents and wedding gown in the bag;    assembling the box;    placing the bag in the box;    sealing the assembled box by moistening the adhesive layer and applying the sealing applying the shipping documents to the box; and    shipping the box to the cleaning and preservation establishment.    
     
     
         2 . A wedding gown cleaning and preservation method comprising the steps of: 
 providing an assembled shipping box to the customer at the point of purchase of the wedding gown, the box containing order and shipping documents, a bag, sealing tape with a moisture activated adhesive layer and instructions;    filling out the order and shipping documents;    placing the order documents and wedding gown in the bag;    placing the bag in the box;    sealing the box by moistening the adhesive layer and applying the sealing tape;    applying the shipping documents to the box; and    shipping the box to the cleaning and preservation establishment.    
     
     
         3 . A wedding gown cleaning and preservation shipping kit comprising a shipping box, order and shipping documents, a bag, sealing tape with a moisture activated adhesive layer and instructions, the kit being provided to the customer at the point of purchase of the gown, wherein the customer fills out the order and shipping documents, places the order documents and the wedding gown in the bag; places the bag in the box, seals the box by moistening the adhesive layer and applying the sealing tape, applies the shipping documents to the box and ships the box to the cleaning and preservation establishment.  
     
     
         4 . The kit of  claim 3  wherein the box is pre-assembled.  
     
     
         5 . The kit of  claim 3  further comprising stickers to be placed on the gown to indicate areas which require special treatment.  
     
     
         6 . The kit of  claim 3  wherein said tape is provided in strips.
